    Default Turbo Express speaker problems

I'm getting just a faint sound on my games when the volume is turned all the way up on the dial. You have to put your head all the way up to the speaker just to hear it. When you put headphones on, it's a little better, but still not what it should be. Any ideas on how to fix this or what the problem might be?

I just got this last week, so I'm not sure of the history behind it. Thanks!

I can't help you, but my Turbo Express has the same problem. It came to me like that, too. I haven't tried fixing it, but one of these days I want to get it working properly.

You may want to try the fix detailed at PCEngineFX.com:

Going to bump an ancient one here.

After fixing my Game Gear screen problems and (mostly) fixing the Duo, I figured it was time to fix my Turbo Express. Saw that a few caps were leaking and decided to replace all of the audio caps instead of just adding the one like the guide said.

In the process of removing them, I managed to rip the pads clean off.

So, I found this post over at the PC Engine forums, but it's been over a week since I tried to register and haven't had a response. Don't like risking my Express just sitting there open like this.

If I'm understanding the schematic, I can still run a wire from the end of the cap without a pad to the next location that matches, right?

Yes, or you can scrap at the trace a bit and do a proper trace repair that will last much longer.
I fix things. You name it, I'll work on it. Want something modded? Recapped?

Never done a trace repair so not sure if I'd risk it with my own Express. I generally learn on stuff that's cheap and basically disposable.
