    Default Help me specify a problem...Coleco

    How do U tell if a Colecovision needs a good cleaning, a new power supply, or something soldered( I cant remember what)???
    My Coleco powers up, I get a solid color screen, and the Atari adapter works...
    I want to play MR. Do! dammit!!

    If you power it up without the Atari adapter, and with no cartridge installed, do you get the "Please turn off before inserting cartridge" screen?

    Solid colour can mean-

    - a bad connection between the AC adapter and the system

    - dying AC adapter (voltage sub standard on one or more rails)

    - power switch dying (less likely IMO, as that usually gives garbled graphics, temp fixed with a reset)

    Well, that takes care of 'needs a good cleaning'.

    Time to check out that power supply.

    Are there any newer model power supply for the coleco?
    ...or do i just have to hope i get a working 'brick' off of ebay?
    Crap! I want to play this damn thing! My old NES didnt even frustrate me this much! Close though.

    I know the feeling because I have 2 coleco's but only one power supply.
    You would think it should be easy to make a simple dual voltage bi polarity power supply.
