Default Why doesn't Apple make a i-pod to compete with the PSP?

Atari, Namco, Tatio, Sega, etc.. can release old classic games for it. Or download old classics from i-tunes. Competetion is always good for the consumer.

Because Apple actually knows what market it wants to go after, whereas Sony seemingly wants everyone, but doesn't really focus on anyone.

Moron? So are you implying the head of Sony is a moron? Be nice. More companies that get into the gaming, the better for the consumer.

    Ditto.

And besides it seems like the more things a company makes the more the quality drops. Apple makes computers, monitors and iPods, and all are excellent.

Also Apple has never really been a "jump on the bandwagon" type of company.

I do so when or if I decide to get an heldhand, the price hopefully will be low due to more companies joining in the fray.

Sure, they can make ports of all those Pippin games that sold so well! Oh, wait, there weren't any!

Why else do you think the video game crash happened? Too many people got into it at once. Crappier games were made. The market bottomed out.

Yeah but then the crash will cause all games to drop to $ 5 which will make the author of the above quote very happy. Unfortunately for the rest of us we'll have to wait 2 years to see any new games. Maybe by then someone will be brave enough to put a product on the shelves that they can sell for something more than pennies on the dollar.

"and the revolution will be the beginning of the end!" -- some crazy guy was yelling this at a corner.

I thought it was pretty funny though. I hope that handhelds become the normal plaything, i really don't like consoles. Imagine taking shenmue on the bus, or playing halo @ school, Zelda with your buddies, the future is in the handhelds, the big consoles have to go.

Yes, gaming on a real screen i can actually see and having surround sound sucks. I really should get rid of the consoles and get all handhelds because they're easier to play while taking a shit. Both have their place, and neither is going anywhere.

Honestly, when it boils right down to it I think that it is pretty obvious why Apple wouldn't make a portable gaming system...

Are Apple computers known for gaming?

Apple would have to develop completely new relationships with every publisher for their console, and they wouldn't have a large, well-known group of games that they already make to draw upon. Microsoft actually had some of that knowledge going into the Xbox.

Microsoft Had all that Knowledge... Direct X is one of the most stable game drivers ever made (Its Windows that sucks)

But I-pods are selling fine enough... If anything, Sony should incorporate more I-Pod in to PSP. PSP is deffinately for anyone's poison as far as Media is concerned.

I was about to say the same thing. Apple can't even get anybody to make games for OSX, let alone try to get people to make games for a portable device that does ONLY games.
You are startled by a grim snarl. Before you, you see 1 Red dragon. Will your stalwart band choose to (F)ight or (R)un?

Exactly. I don't want to be mean to anyone that likes Apples, but chances are they are not a gamer. Apple computers just don't get many games.

I think it may be because of their image -- Apple has presented Macs as the computer for people that don't want to learn how to use a computer. It is a great computer for a person who says, "I don't know how to install anything!" but when it comes to gaming, I just don't think the Apple market is looking to purchase games like the PC market is.

I do find it ironic that Bungie was hired away from the Mac platforms to become Microsoft's star developers for the Xbox.
