Default WTB: Atari 7800 blue tip power supply and/or connector

Hello everyone. For a while, I have been looking for an original power supply (9V/1A) for my Atari 7800. I've been using a hacked RadioShack wall wart with a similar connector on the end, but I doubt this arrangement will last forever, so I'd like an authentic one to replace it. Alternatively, I'd be interested in a dead 7800 PS with a good connector on it. Thanks in advance.

    Hey

These things seem very hard to come by and the actual connector/jack have not been commercially available for a long time. I have not even seen any replacement supplies for the last 10 years.

But the voltage is standard and there is even a large filter capacitor with marked + and - right near the power input. You can get a jack to match the 2600 at radio shack for under $3 and drill a new hole and solder leads to the cap and you are all set.

I have a working adapter (used one of the Radio Shack supplies originally meant to work with a Sega Genesis or somesuch; puts out only 800mA@9V as opposed to the original's 1000mA, but since the system only draws around 600mA, it's sufficient), with a makeshift plug (originally made one from nothing but two brass contacts wound with electrical tape to shape; had to change the tape twice before finding a formed plastic connector), but would like to go for authenticity if possible. Alternatively, I'd just like to find a dead PS with a connector in good shape, so I can use something with more of a gripping end (the connector I'm using now was not made to be removed from a tight space, and I've had to change the wire going to the contacts before since they worked themselves loose after being removed and inserted a number of times).
