ehh. I really doubt he's buying it for himself. He's usually on the low end when buying for himself, in my experience anyway.
Do you think he is buying it to resell for a profit? If so, I had a hard time believing anyone would pay more than what he did for it, so chances are he's gonna lose some money on this one.Originally Posted by Bronty-2

This is getting out of hand! Realy crazy to pay that much for one game you will never open. On the other side its realy cool to have, but for that price i'd rather buy 100 used SNES games.
Well, in the past, he's mentioned that he has a friend willing to pay large amounts and that he only spends that kind of money when it's really for the friend. He seems more careful with his own money, but who knows for sure.Originally Posted by imanerd0011
Well, my suspicion would be that it is a good way for him to avoid having all those pointless arguments with people who go ape every time they see someone pay that much for a sealed game.
Just throw yourt hands up and say "It's for a friend ... I couldn't possibly comment!".
Or, of course, perhaps it's true. But it just smacks of the old favourite "A friend of mine <once got arrested for> <did some really stupid thing>" etc etc - insert whatever thing it is that you don't want to admit to.

I dont care what other ppl use their money on. Its their money so they can spend it on whatever they want But still i think its crazy to pay this much for only 1 game.
Last year I had a giant amout of sealed SNES games and i got $100 for spiderman and like almost $200 for a few other kind of common games! It was Great...
If you are ever in St louis stop by my store Trade-N-Games. I have a huge selection of vintage games along with the new systems. Or shop online now www.tradengames.com

Sealed games are dumb.

They collect them and they dont even touch them.
You can have them in a nice mint condition and still play them

I can see that argument, considering it's getting more and more ridiculous each year.Originally Posted by thegreatescape

Yeah, but what if in 5 years no one cares about sealed SNES games, and this thing isn't even worth half of what he bought it for.Originally Posted by rhiohki
paying $600 for some plastic on a game is just insane....but in the end they will be the ones laughing at us 10 years down the road when they sell it for $2000
aint nescescerily "I can never spell that word" so..
Ive seen that the majority of rare games have fallen in price due to the internet over the past couple of years, people have seen games sell for $200 and so they thought "I have that somewhere", dig it out and suddenly its shown to be not as rare as people thought.
There are obvious exceptions, but as more and more people browse ebay, more and more "thought to be rare" stuff surfaces.
Jopac games are a prime example of this, they were a minimum of $100 a peice 2 years ago.. I just got three for $60
Hand helds & Game n Watches, $60 for your standards 2 years ago, $20 now, etc
Heroquest board games used to go £20-£30, now average price is £10..
so unless its unique or a production run of sub 1000, I think at best there is only going to be a value rise equal to inflation.. if not a loss

it always makes me wonder why anyone would pay that much for shrink wrap
12 US SMS games to go
74 US DC games to go

I think that his "friend" must be Andre Henretta. This figures into my "Henretta Conspiracy Pyramid" theory where he is at the center of all shady ebay activities involving enormous amounts of money.Originally Posted by Bronty-2

I collect and like to play games not buy only so i can have profit of it.
