Default Dragon's lair for NES, how far have you gotten on it?

I hate this game, I have never past that stupid bridge, I don't want to ask how to pass it, I want to figure it out, but it just seems so crappy. And I think once I get into the castle, the way the guy moves areound is so horible, and it is so easy to die. So how far have you people been in the game?

I like this game alot, the controls you have to get use too,but the graphix and sound totally rock, i beat the game a long time ago.
I can remember i cheated though, you can get 30 lives when you enter BATS on the high score screen.

i've made it to the end of the game, after several dozen deaths. the final boss (singe) is much harder because i think i died almost as much as i did before him. i did eventually finish the game though.

It's a cool game! Excellent graphics/sound, and the gameplay becomes quite interesting after some practice. Check out my review if you're interested: http://www.epinions.com/content_155076759172

I haven't beaten it yet, but I can reach the very last level...

I couldn't make it past the the first screen either. The game controls stiffer than Haunted Castle, fer Pete's sake!

It did have pretty great graphics for an NES game, however (even if they were a mere shadow of the eye candy that was the arcade incarnation of Dragon's Lair).

It's tough. You have to memorize everything, and pretty much know what you're gonna do before you do it.

The stiffness of the control never really bothered me because I assumed that they weren't trying to make a platformer out of it; they were trying to bring some of the feel of the arcade game home. The NES game is considerably more interactive than it's arcade ancestor, but if you think about the way you have to kind of plan how you're going to attack things, and MEMORIZE every step you take, it is kind of similar to the lazerdisc.

Just be patient, and if you have to, cheat with an emulator. Have fun with it; if you get pissed at it you'll never get to see all beautiful stuff it has to offer.

I made it past the bridge and maybe halfway through the castle (after the bridge). A damn hard game.
