    Default Mario Plushes

I was cleaning out my storage bin the other day, and I came across these:

I remember these from a long time ago, and I think I may have ordered them out of a Nintendo Power supplement. Does anyone know anything about these? Are they worth anything, or are they just really cool plush dolls?

    EDIT: I also found this:

there are a TON of mario plushes on ebay, but I do recall that bowser plush catching $20...and I have that sonic plush, its one of the older ones, not all those new duplicates out there, its value usualy fetches $10-15, and tails is worth alot more, which I dont have.

That's the exact Sonic plush I had when I was younger, but damnit, I can't find it anymore!

And I can't find it on Ebay ever as well, it sucks.

Bah, I know my parents tossed it, those evil people.

I feel your pain, brother. My mom has thrown out many of my old action figures! Of course, she did so with my consent, but I never knew that I would want them years later!

I have a bunch of those as well. In addition to the beanie plushes that you own, there're six more that I know of:

6 different Yoshi's (Red, Blue, Yellow, White, Black, & Green with Red shoes), Banjo-Kazooie, Mumbo Jumbo, and Princess Peach.

Some of the rarer ones can go for insane amounts on eBay ($100+ each).

I never saw a princess peach one, thoguh i always wanted a plush peach!

I have a few of those. They could be bought in Babbages and other game stores, even from JC Penny's. I think they were around $5-6 when they were first released.

i got my toad one from a game store on clearance. i think they were released to promote mariokart 64. for some reason i remember the tags on toad indicating something about mariokart :/

anyone still got tags on theirs and can verify this?

mine's been hanging from the rear view mirror of my car (actually it's been through two cars. i've since replaced my old VW, but not my toad) since the day i got it.

The original set was mario, bowser, green yoshi. to promote mario 64 i think, not mario kart 64.

okay, well i was refering to the tags on my toad plush. toad having not been included in your list of original release plushes, i'd say that my mariokart assertion still stands to reason. some tag-produced evidence will provide us with hard data...

    ...to the bridge...

... number one, you're in charge.

edit: wait a sec... was yoshi even in mario 64??

2nd edit: the wings on that mario plush's cap would certainly back up the mario 64 theory.

Yep, he was. He showed up at the end on top of the castle and gave you 100 lives.

so yes but no? it seems like he isn't really a staple of the gameplay and therefore not a good mouthpiece for the game.

I used to have some of those too. I remember I picked mine up at Sears. They also made Key-chain versions of almost all of them.

My mom threw a whole box full of these cards. I can understand it tho, the cards were horrible, babies cut in half and still smiling etc etc..
