I know he sells these things, but does anyone know for how much? By now, his site is probably famous enough that he makes some serious green on each portable he makes. Anyone know for sure (or want to venture a guess?)

In this thread, newby101 said he paid "a little over $400" for his SNESp by Ben Heck. That should give you a general idea, give or take. He sold it on eBay for $480 (link is in the same thread), which leads me to believe that these things are holding their value, if not increasing slightly over time.
Ah! But for $20 plus whatever you pay for parts, you can build your own! Ben's book is now available. I'll be picking one up myself, simply because it's one of the neatest "basement electronics tinkering" projects I can imagine!

Still Around...Still Gamin'...
Years ago I bought a portable Atari 2600 from Ben for about 350.00 or so. I it was model # 6 I believe. I had alot of problems with it. I rarely used it, only to show it to friends. And I never took it out of the house. So it was never abused or anything. I sent it back because the controls stopped working. He fixed it and returned it to me stating that some spots needed resoddering and then about 6 months later (its sat for 6 months unplayed) it failed to even work at all. So I tried multiple times to contact ben with no reply. I sold it to someone on the Atariage forum as non working for like 250.00. Overall it was not a great experience, but Ben is talented and his portables are very cool.
