Default TG-16: If it has no cardboard box, is it still complete?

So I just got into TG-16/TG-16 CD collecting. I noticed that many games had cases, and no outer cardboard box, and were still being considered complete by EBay sellers. However, I know that almost every game came with the cardboard box, some only came with the cardboard box and no jewel case. So what I'm asking is, if it doesn't have the outer cardboard case, is it still complete?

From a collector's standpoint, no. However, it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get all the cardboard boxes. It'll take years. Most TG16 collectors and sellers simply either don't bother, or don't know the boxes existed in the first place. I've been collecting TG16 for years, and I still only have 4 boxed games. However, I don't go out of my way to look for the boxes either...as I collect em to play em.

Same here. I actually go out of my way to not buy ones with boxes since it will practically force me to try and get boxes for the ones I don't have. Plus from a display standpoint I think they look better on a shelf without them. As for the games that never came with cases I just put those in a replacement case (keith courage or a common sports title) and make my own orange labels.

Right. But it says "Keith Courage" on it instead of Neutopia 2, Bonk 3, etc.. I make my own homeade labels with the correct name of the game. They hardly look official or anything but if you were to just glance at them all lined up together you probably wouldn't notice.

They didn't make a binder for Hu-cards did they? I mean, if there was a little booklet like a cd holder that could hold loose Hucards it would be pretty sweet.

No, it's not complete. That is what makes a complete TG-16 collection so hard to get. But a tip for picking up commons (and sometimes raritys). There are no pal games, and Telegames UK is always selling tons of sealed TG-16. They might have a french letter on the shrinkwrap and an extra instruction booklet in there at most. So if your trying to collect complete, pick up some games from telegames UK.

Thanks! How do you order from there? They don't have a cart option.

Personally I don't bother going after the cardboard boxes. Too much work, and almost my entire tg16 collection is cd case. Only system where I'm not picky over complete games. I've actually amassed a large amount of cardboard games in the wild though. Some really good ones too like Air Zonk and Ys1&2 & YsIII.

I use trading card binder sheets for my TG16 games. Nine a page, tucked away safely in a handy binder.

I have never ordered directly from the site. Maybe you email them the order? They also have an ebay name, which is where I have ordered from, and it's slightly cheaper if im not mistaken.

What he said. It's nice if you can get em, but personally I don't collect for status. I only buy games I want to play I could care less what anyone else thinks (not that I don't like to brag now and then like everyone else).

Nevermind. I reposted what I just erased in the split part of the thread.

Back to the discussion of TG-16 boxes...

ahhh...Drummy my man. No wonder I got that offer from you over on the *other* site.

As the question has already been answered from a collector standpoint, it is NOT complete unless it has the box. All US based Hu-cards games and CD-Rom games came with a box. US Super-CD Rom games came without boxes....ie. Bonk 3 CD, Super Air Zonk, Dungeon Explorer II, etc. However, Vasteel and Exile Wicked Phenomenon didn't come with a box, but with a cardboard outer slip-cover. This was actually mentioned in a thread here on these forums a while ago. Just do a search for TG16 boxes and you should come up with it.

Good luck finding the TG16 stuff.

That must have been fun collecting all those boxed.

Are ALL the games telegames.co.uk sealed?

Also, rhiohki, you could have at least declined or something. I've been waiting for your response!
