Default New Jakks Plug n Play - CAPCOM GAMES!

Found this on the AA Forums, didn't see it posted here yet.

JAKKS Pacific Signs TV Games License With CAPCOM Co., Ltd.
MALIBU, Calif., Feb. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAKK) announced today that the Company has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with CAPCOM CO., LTD. to develop and market CAPCOM TV Games, a plug and play gaming system that contains multiple games based on classic CAPCOM Games titles, in one single controller.

CAPCOM TV Games will feature five top-selling CAPCOM arcade classic games, including 1942, Ghosts 'N Goblins, Mega Man, Gun Smoke and Side Arms. All that is needed are batteries and a TV -- No videogame consoles and no gaming cartridges are required. Simply plug TV Games into the A/V jacks of any standard television set, turn on and play! The lightweight, compact, all- inclusive controller, houses a combination of videogames with all of the hardware built right into the controller. This technology allows gaming fans to enjoy a number of videogames with just one single purchase.

"The TV Games(TM) brand and category has grown tremendously in the past year, and we believe gaming fans will be excited about the addition of CAPCOM TV Games," commented Jennifer Richmond, senior vice president of licensing, JAKKS Pacific. "The platform will be an excellent vehicle for CAPCOM's top-selling titles like Ghosts n' Goblins and Mega Man."

"CAPCOM is proud to partner with JAKKS Pacific to bring some of CAPCOM's "classic" games to the TV Games brand," stated Marc Mostman of Most Management, LLC., CAPCOM's North American licensing agency. "CAPCOM's video game brands are a natural extension for the TV Games line. Capcom looks forward to continuing to expand their relationship with JAKKS by offering additional CAPCOM titles from their game library as JAKKS' TV Games line continues to grow."

JAKKS Pacific has worldwide rights for CAPCOM TV Games, excluding Japan and expects the unit to retail for approximately $20. For more information on JAKKS' TV Games lines, go to www.jakkstvgames.com .

I wonder if they're going to be the arcade versions or the NES ports. As far as I know, the first Mega Man wasn't in the arcades.

More likely 1942/3, Trojan, Gun.smoke Vulgus might be on there.

Wish the arcade Bionic Commando would be on there.

Hmm... I don't think Jakks has released an NES hardware "system" yet have they? Provocative, no doubt. Heh.

awesomeness! I'm buying it, that's for sure--It's the 1st plug 'n play I've ever had any real interest in. I hope this is the first in a series!

They really need to release a Neo Geo Plug and play game.

If it is indeed an arcade version of 1942 then I'm totally sold. I'll pray for '43...
