Anybody know how to level up as fast as possible without cheating. One of my buddies is at level 80 after only playing for a month. I swear he plays for 5-6 hours a day !! I’m only at level 20 so playing with him has become impossible.
Thanks

Play 10 hours a day
Using a weapon like the spread needle helps -- even if you are playing with multiple people, you'll get xp for each enemy you attack.
Except you cant use a spread needle until later levels. Use the shot or cast a spell to hit everythingOriginally Posted by Neil Koch
I stopped playing after getting 2 of my main characters around 160.
I have anything you could imagine and did it through playing and not cheating

Interesting... when did this come out for PC?
I swear, the amount of hours I wasted on the DreamCast on this game... And then again with version 2.0, and then again on the Xbox...
Shame you can't upload your character to an online server, and then access it regardless of what system you use. That would have saved a lot of wasted hours! Not to mention the times I had to start all over again due to being Nolled...
The way I leveled up fast on the DC verision was I get up for school "miss the bus" and play for 3 hours untill my grandfather picked me up. Came home from school played untill I went to sleep. Repeat for like a month playing 12 hours a day. That game brings me a lot of fond memories
I was a big-time PSO player in the Dreamcast days, but I'd imagine the techniques to leveling up remain pretty much the same.
1. Get yourself any kind of spell or weapon that can deal even a little damage to a large area. Someone suggested Spread Needle but they're not available to low-level characters. Ultimately you need only remember that a single hit on even the toughest monster that dies nets you full experience points, which leads to the second point...
2. Travel with a tough group. You'll level up MUCH faster in a team. There are more monsters, worth more experience points, and with a good team you'll mow through them in no time.
I used to play the game with several departed forum members: Saitoh, Buffy DP, and a Hollander whose handle escapes me at the moment - it seemed as a foursome we'd get through the early levels (up to 20) in just a few hours.
Good luck! I'm glad to hear people are still having fun with this classic game.
Came out late 2001 but only in Japan, based on PSO v2. for dreamcast.Originally Posted by Gemini-Phoenix
Thanks for all the advice folks.
A side note for all you Dreamcast PSO users out there – I believe there is a way to remove your character from the VMU and use it in the PC version. One of my buddies claims this anyways.
