Default NES PC. (I didn't think it was possible)

The guy is asking $1700.00 for his NES PC.

I seriously didn't think that you could put a good PC together and fit it all inside of an NES console shell.

I've seen another for sale some months ago for like $500.
If you pay $1700 for 1.2ghz, 1gb ram, 40gb and onboard gfx card, u have to be crazy.
I realy hope no1 falls for this and waste that amount on money.

I have a friend at work making one right now, and if I do say so myself his is even more impressive than that one. Not just does it have better overall specs, but the CD player that is in it is capped with the end of a Super Mario Brothers / Duck Hunt cartridge and the controllers can be plugged directly into it to work with emulation.

He also really wanted to make it so that it looked original. There are no extra holes drilled into it for nearly anything -- it has a wireless keyboard, wireless mouse, wireless internet... The only thing that looks different is where the VGA cable comes out. It's rather amazing.

It's quite the project and he's still got a ways to go, so things could change... but its pretty slick looking right now!

I don't know alot about computers... but wouldn't it overheat being crammed into that little space?
I go online sometimes, but ... everyone's spelling is really bad, and it's ... depressing.

I'm sure the cooling/ventilation system is excellent.

Now if someone could make a PC out of a top loader...

The EPIA motherboards that are used for these types of projects are Mini-itx boards with very low power consumption levels, and as such very low heat production. Many of them only use heatsinks without fans.

With the size that I've seen the latest Dell laptops... That isn't that far out of the question now!

Then again, those are using mobile processors. But why not?

The best PC mod was the one where they put one inside the original Star Wars Millenium Falcon toy.
