Default Is this a PSX debug unit??

    Hi,

I was at a pawn shop today and saw a old square style PS1 whith A\V jacks at the back of it and I was wondering if there was an early version with A\V at the back or is this a debug unit? It's still the normal grey color not blue or green and that is what made me ask this question. Thanks for the help. Also what neighbourhood of a price should I be willing to pay wfor this?

Its a first model PSX system, i have one just like it.

I have been told that the early systems are kinda to be avoided because the laser motor (i believe) wears out?? I'm not really sure as mine still works.

I can tell you that they do not support the vibration on the dual shock controllers.

    As for price....um i'd say $25 tops

i think the problem is with the track the laser assembly slides on

its fixable (just glue in some thin plastic sheets

    - i have one and it has that problem - also i belive thats the model that the swap trick is easy to perform on (if your interested in that sort of thing)

i think its nice to have the standard rca plugs on the back - makes it so easy to find and even build (if need be) cables

personaly id grab it - im always on the look out for those

man i read all these stories about people going to pawn shops and goodwiill stores and finding stuff -- MAN CT SUX - ive been all over and every place tells me they don't take that kind of stuff in "people like you don't come around often enough"

<---- Not the PSX price expert.

I just based that price on how much a PSX cost at the store i worked at...which was around $20-25 (including cords and such). Of course we wouldnt accept the orginal PSX because of its problem.

But i got mine at a yard sale with all cords (RF ) and a game for $20.

debugstation has the model# starts with DTL-xxxxx unlike retail models...
and they only came in blue and green - not counting black Yaroze coz it isn't debug machine...
