Resident Evil taught me "Bio-Weapon"...."The Ultimate Bio-Weapon"

What would YOU do, if you were in charge of the ULTIMATE Bio-Weapon?

Also learned what the heck "Echidna" meant back in 94'

FF7 taught me "Jes". As in "You jes' fulla surprises."
    FF4 taught me "spoony".

DDR and beatmania taught me the DJ term "BPM (Beats Per Minute)" if that counts.

Mostly learned martial arts terms from fighting games. Parry, ukemi, the ranking system in Karate, stuff like that.

    Shining Force taught me 'egress'.

It's scary to think of all the military and weapons terminology that I've picked up from games. (Though BFG is, of course, the best)

Dahne has had Shining Force songs stuck in her ehad all day for no reason. Dun da DUN dun, dun da DUN dun, dun da dun DUUUUN, dun da DAAAH...

    ditto.

i'm a scrabble buff so after tellah threw down that "spoony" remark i had to look it up. it's good to know that if someone lays down the word "SPOON" in scrabble i can capitalize on it by extending it with...
    -Y
    -IER
    -IEST
    -ILY

btw: "spoon" is actually a somewhat common word in scrabble gameplay. it's a vowel dump and has a 3 point letter in it (the "P") and it starts with an "S" so it can be played off the tail end of nouns that can be pluralized by adding an "S".

I've learned many a word, though I remember I learned "beseech" from Ogre Battle 64. Nothing else specific comes to mind at the moment.

Mostly Japanese words that I had to look up in the character dictionary.

    Can't remember anything off hand.

I learned some words from Ultima IV but I was like 8 years old so I can't remember all that well. I don't remember running into many words I didn't know in there except for "stygian". Is Hythloth even a word?

Heh, I learned most of my vocabulary from games, that's why English was one of my favorite subjects in school ;)

After reading it above, I learned fiend from a game as well - it was Quake though ^^

Same here... I learned so many words from video games, I wouldn't know where to start.
I go online sometimes, but ... everyone's spelling is really bad, and it's ... depressing.

Heh, I've been playing since I was 3 so what didn't I learn? Spoony does come to mind first though, I about died laughing.

Name a piece of armor/weapon or whatever, learned it from games.
Arbalast, pauldron, flamberge, tribuchet, greaves, circlet, bracer, frigate, man-o-war, schooner, dirk, stilletto, goal tending (wow, it took me a year to figure that one out), gauntlet, ballista, scimitar, bowyer, kee kee (thats what bats say).

    I think I'll stop there
