Default Help me recall this arcade game.....

Okay, this is vague and a long shot, but I'm hoping someone can recall this game. I tried checking KLOV but with so little to go on it was impossible.

I remember playing it at the Dave and Busters in Atlanta....I'm not even sure of the exact year, I want to say the late 90's. It was a tank simulator. A LARGE machine, as I recalled. You sat down in this huge seat that looked it came from a actuall tank, and the front of the game had tank like settings and displays as well. You looked on a HUGE gaming screen also. Anyway, the missions involved driving the tank on the grond from a first person POV shooting everything up. The main stick, if I recall correctly, was located on your side and not directly in front of you -- it may have had gas and break pedals as well. You could fire the main gun as well as cannons and missles.

I know it's not much, but can anyone help? I only ever saw it and played it that one time. It was one player only. I'm sure a large machine like that must have been expensive.

T-Mek, perhaps? Here's the Dp guide entry for the 32X version:

No, Tokyo Wars is right. I'm almost positive. I think it's made by SEGA. Great fun, I love that game in multiplayer. It was like 1998 to 2000.

Okay, I pulled up the info for Tokyo Wars from KLOV. Says it was made by Namco. The year fits, and they show a pic of a one person model on the bottom -- I KNOW this one I played was one person only.

It COULD be the game, but with so little info I'm still not sure. The funny thing is I remember the playing screen being MUCH larger -- they had it mounted on a wall so other people could see it as well as you. My Mom, for example, watched me for a while playing it. Special model, perhaps?

There's more screenshots at the System16 website. That had to be a special setup with the big screen, but that sort of thing wasn't that uncommon at big arcades.

I remember this game, and I'll vouch for it being Tokyo Wars. My friend worked at Gameworks in Seattle, so we would get free games and blow the crud out of each other on that one. The one there was a 2-person unit.
