Default Need tips on moving large amounts of gaming mags

I'm moving in a little over a month and I have been collecting game mags for about 10 years and have around 300 + issues. These things are a nightmare to move and I was hoping for some tips from the experts.
What's the best way to pack magazines? Do you wrap them up in small bundles tied with twine and hope you don't damage them to much? Do you pack them in a bunch of small boxes so you dont throw out your back? What have you done in the past?
    Thanks for all the advice...

Well,I probably have around 2-3000 Gaming Magazines by now..Man do they accumulate after time.

I store them in these thick cardboard boxes that are a pain/back breaking to more..

I've been putting the mags I get now in clear plastic sturdy containers, stuff you buy out of Wallmart with lids...but they too become heavy..It's amazing just how heavy magazines become when you fill up a box or container.

Me: When I move I'm going to try and not lift them much....I'm going to use a wheel cart to move the boxes.
I have other stuff that is much heavier so I'm going to make most use of a wheel cart.
I will have to do some lifting so I'll war a weight lifting belt.

I'd put them in smaller boxes, say 40-50 mags per box max..then if you can use a wheel cart or roller use one..

Whew. Reminds me when we moved to our new apartment back in October.

    I threw out my:

    Next Gen collection
EGM (going way back, even had the ish with the Sheng Long gag)
    Animerica (issue 1 and up)

But I did keep my Gamefan mags. Heh....it was their article on Guardian Heroes that convinced me to buy a Saturn. The rest is history.

I keep all my mags is magazine boxes (they may be called golden age size comic boxes). Basically they're just like comic boxes, only sized for mags.

They're sturdy, have a lid, handles on each side, and can hold either 250 or 500 (roughly)mags depending on what size you get. They can be found at most comic stores and cost about $3 - 4.50

    Very good ideas...
I was hoping I wasn't the only person out there having this problem.
    Hey Tholly,
Which issues are you missing? I've got a few doubles.

Just go to your local comic shop and ask for magazine boxes. Any good comic shop will carry them next to the comic book boxes. I have hundreds of magazines all in these easy to manage boxes.
