I finally ditched my UK Super Nintendo and bought a Super Famicom.

Previously I used an adapter to play US and Jp games on my UK machine.
The adapter (I don't have a box) is unbranded; on the front it has 'IMPORT CART' and an arrow pointing to the top slot.
A 'home' cart plugs into the back and sticks out at 90°.

But when I play a UK or US game on the SFC, there are corruptions in the graphics - horizontal lines cutting across the screen and/or bits of sprites moving around - as soon as the screen starts doing anything (so basically anywhere except title screens or menus).
(Japanese games play normally.)

I tried a different TV cable and it was the same.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
Is it an adapter problem?

This probably hasn't got anything to do with it but:

The plug that I got with the SFC is not Nintendo-made. It has
'AC/AC Adaptor
'Input: AC 230-240V 90mA 18W
'Output: AC 10V 1.25A'
on it.

That's a bit different from an official Nintendo UK PSU.
I don't suppose that means much, does it?
(I didn't plug my UK Nintendo PSU into the SFC in case it blew it.)

Thanks for any advice.
