I didn't hear anything of the sort... and there's no mention of it either on Harmonix' website (the developer of Frequency/Amplitude as well as Karaoke Revolution).
Doh! I was very excited by that ... now I'm all disappointed

Of course, it's not impossible that a sequel IS under works, but with another developer... it depends on whether the license actually belongs to Harmonix or Sony (since it was SCEA who published Amplitude and Frequency).
Are you sure he wasn't confused by the fact that it IS a sequel and was thinking of Frequency? At any rate, I'd love to know this myself. I loved the first one but Amplitude didn't do much for me. Both the gameplay and the music didn't feel as good to me.
No, he is well aware of the fact that Amplitude is the sequel to Frequency as he is even more of a music game fanatic than I. And, annoyingly, he is much better at them than I am. He has completed both Space Channel 5 games on 100%. Now that is just freakishly good :/

I hope this becomes a reality. I want an Amplitude sequel more than any other game. It's time to contact Harmonix!!
I as well would love another game in the likes of Frequency/Amplitude (but more so the former). I was just disappointed with the length, even know I know it takes time/money to include many different artists/songs.
Space Channel 5 and it's sequel were a far cry from Frequency/Amplitude's difficulty. Too bad... :/
I really loved amplitude, I didn't like Frequency nearly as much. I also really hated the Eye toy game. I would be very happy if they realeased another (very similair to original) Amplitude sequel. I hope they don't complicate it too much as well. Also, I think in order to strike to good balence that the original captured the developers will have to put A LOT of thought into the soundtrack--the game really is (mostly) only as good as its sound track. Until then I'll have to satisfy myself with the original
I too prefer Amplitude to Frequency.
