I was researching prices this past weekend.
NYC to San Francisco:
2 nights hotel = $498, Airfare = $480 round trip.

Just did a priceline search 5 minutes ago:
Package deal = $511 round trip + 2 nights hotel.

What a difference!

Yea. I am coming from NY also. The tickets get pricey fast..... worth it though! I bought mine a while back. A few weeks after the dates were released. Always good to plan ahead, otherwise you end up like you. Less money to buy games with! :/

What a difference!

2 nights hotel + airfare this past weekend was:
$498 + $480 = $978 (the package deal was $750+)

Today it's $511 - that's way less expensive!

Maybe the prices are cheaper during the week - who knows.

I know what you mean! On Expedia.ca, the cheapest flight for Montreal-Vancouver-San Francisco was $1085 CDN. Today, the lowest price is $970. Unfortunately, I can't reserve right now, since I haven't talked to Steve's uncle yet for my post-CGE SF plans.

And yeah, I'm doing a 2-part trip... It's actually much cheaper than flying twice separately from Montreal to Vancouver BC and from Montreal to San Francisco. And at least, I won't be under jet lag when I get to CGE, since I'd already be on the west coast for a few days at that point.

I found something odd when tryng to book my paskage deal. On Travelocity, if I selected flight only, then "decided" to add a hotel it was far cheaper than starting out with a package deal. Couldn't figure out why one minute it was $408, then the next it was $478.
