It's a remix of Wipeout and Wipeout XL. It handles pretty well, new soundtrack added and a few new tracks. The controls are pretty solid I think.

It's a pretty worthy buy, I used to find it used at GameStop for $2.99, dunno what the going rate of it is now.
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

    $4.99 from EBgames.com
I have it and I like it. I like all the Wipeouts though. It's been a while since I played it so I can't really go into specifics but I know I enjoyed it and I think it's worth a buy.

I personally love the game, but would say that it pales in comparison to the PS1/Saturn/PS2/PSP versions. The draw distance seems much closer, and though they did an amazing job fitting tunes on the N64 cart, the music is the worst in the series (perhaps arguably when compared to the PS2 version).

Yeah, I remember Wipeout 64 well. It was a pretty good game, considering the pros/cons of the hardware, but I found that XL was the best in the series. XL's graphics had a much richer tone to them, and the pace of the game felt better.

It's a good buy, and its good fun, but it feels a little more like a cousin than a brother.

    Highly recommended.

I actually think the music is quite good.

Well, you have to look at it in the right context. When it hit the N64 back in 1998 it was awesome because there wasn't anything like it yet. F-Zero X came out in the same year. We got blessed with two killer futuristic racers in one year.

It's most certainly highly playable. Very smooth. Just don't expect an Xbox experience and you'll be fine.

It was Wipeout, so it was lots of fun. The N64 had the benefit of 4-player racing, so that was the real perk. It was more of a remix than a new game, but that's okay. It's a good compliment to F-Zero X, yadda yadda.

I think it's great.. Be forewarned though, the cart has no saving ability and you need to have one of those controller memory thingys if I remember correctly.

I almost bought this last night but the guy was selling it for like 19.99 at a local game shop. WAY TOO MUCH for that game.

Somebody mentioned F-Zero for N64... that game does NOR get enough love! If I had to pick only ONE racer for the N64, that would be it... no question. Even above Mario Kart, above Beetle Racing, above Wipeout 64.

F-Zero ruled on the N64... i'm glad the franchise is still alive with the 2 GBA games and the GameCube game.

As much as I love all of the Wipeout series, F-Zero X on the N64 was soooo much of a better fit for the strengths of the machine. One of the best on the system. I used to have the F-Zero X500 with a buddy of mine; all random tracks, first to 500 points wins. Took several hours, and never got boring.

funny enough that I love the wipeout games but as of now I only own the N64 version. I don't think its the best in the series but like most have already mentioned it's highly playable and worthy purchase for under $5

Wipeout 64 is an excellent game. F-Zero is great, and I am a big fan of the F-Zero series, but the music and the weapons (really the music) in wipeout are what draws me the most.

The 64 Version is great b/c of the single screen multiplayer & the N64 joystick seems MUCH more accurate than the PS1 analog stick. The PS1 wipeout games never took advantage of the analog stick until Wipeout 3 - and even at that I feel that the D-pad is much more reliable than the analog stick when playing wipeout on the PS1.

I'd rather not eving bring Wipeout Fusion into this conversation as it is a total bastard. It's crazy how good Wipeout Pure is when it was developed by the same team that did 'Fusion.

Wipeout 64 is well worth the ca$h. I would pay $30 for it, but I know that it's available for a LOT cheaper. I found it in a clearance-type stor for 3 bucks, new (Score!). BUY THE GAME, IT DOES NOT DISAPOINT.

I just picked this one up last week and the little time I spent with it makes it seem pretty fun. Still no XL or Wipeout 3 to me, but not much is A good game though, and like others have said, cheap. Picked it up at an EB used but complete for $1.99.

Wipeout64 was good but really doesnt compare to XL on PSX.
It was fast for a 64 racer but the popup was pretty bad in my opinion.
All in all probably one of the best racers on the 64 and well worth the $5-$10 range especially if you like the Wipeout series.

I think this may be more attributed to being used to the D-pad on the PS1 versions. If I sit down and play Wip3out with the stick and then throw in Wipeout XL with the D-pad I'm slamming into walls left and right.
