Nope! No CD-ROM drive haha. At this point, stuff like this is more collector's value than actual utility

I don't buy much anymore, but the last 3 things I snapped off ebay were all imports...

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/151839618199
Bakaretsu Muteki Bangaioh + Sin&Punishment along with an adapter -- I best offered and got a 1/3 off that price listed (US seller) Bangaioh was only made with 10K copies, sells usually for $100-110 by itself before shipping.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/331662876293
Konami GB Collection Vol 3 imported from France for maybe $15US which is a deal -- has Twinbee and Goemon as the 2 notables on it

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/131597789447
Alien Hominid GBA -- UK Asshole tried to scam me with a really exceptional quality bootleg, played dumb -- got it for free with a decision a few days back

No pictures yet, but just thought I'd share anyway. Got a pretty decent deal on eBay.

(small lot of Japanese Famicom & Super Famicom games, all cart only)

    Mario's Super Picross
Balloon Fight (FC, bought for use with Iwata Edition mod)
Soreyuke Ebisumaru: Karakuri Meiro (my husband is a Goemon nut)
    Binary Land
    Penguin-kun Wars (and likes penguins)

and... Metal Slader Glory Director's Cut

    for $85

The carts aren't all in the best cosmetic condition, but going from comparable eBay prices, we pretty much just bought Metal Slader Glory and got the other 5 games free.

My most recent imports - Darius Burst Chronicles LE for the Vita (awesome game), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (the platformer) for the Famicom and Ryu Ga Gotoku Kiwami for the PS4.

    Super Smash Bros. (JP N64)

I now have physical copies of all the Smash games. Got the N64 Japanese version so I could try it alongside the US version I have on Wii Virtual Console. Plus... cheaper and with nicer cover art.

    Cool

Jikkyō Oshaberi Parodius ~forever with me~ (I like to call it Radio Parodius Live) (実況おしゃべりパロディウス 〜フォーエバー・ウィズ・ミー〜)- PSOne
Fun Parodius sequel that has more unique characters with different types of power-ups and filled with Konami references, also includes a race mode, and a mode where you collect rainbow coins, a must have for Konami fans.

Rockman The Power Battle Fighters (ロックマン パワーバトルファイターズ)- PS2
My first and favorite Mega Man game basically a compilation that includes the two MegaMan arcade fighting games Power Battle and Power Fighters. Unlike the one in Mega Man Anniversary Collection, this version has a Vs. Mode where you can fight against each other, and an Extreme Mode, the game is bilingual meaning you can play it in Japanese and English (though the latter you have to unlock it from Extreme Mode).

Might as well post these here too. Got these from a retro/import shop in Seattle. I don't go to Seattle often so I had no idea it existed... just passed it on my way to Uwajimaya and decided to stop in.

I collect fighting games so YYH Final was a no-brainer. I find simple-named games amusing (and being a pugilistic sport, sort of ties in with the fighting game love) so I got Boxing, too.

    Looking for:
    Gamate
    Pirate/homebrew fighting games (Genesis/NES/Super NES/Game Boy family)
    Super Boy series (Master System)
Space Invasion/Karate Joe combo cartridge (Game Boy Color)

Boy, this thread has sure been quiet recently.

Anyway, I don't do much buying anymore. I sold off a good chunk of my collection in late 2016, picked up again a little between April and July, and have now pretty much stopped again. However, a couple very interesting items literally fell into my lap during that time, the first being this CIB Japanese Sega Master System (and a handful of Mark III games, not pictured).

I imported Rhythm Paradise Megamix from Europe. Why? Nintendo of America wouldn't sell physical copies of Rhythm Heaven Megamix, but Nintendo of Japan and Europe would, and the European one is in English. Too bad it is damned difficult to run imports (or at least this import) on a 3DS without some serious soft modding. Too much work!

I bought these four Super Famicom games at a flea market - can anybody give me a hand in identifying them? I bought them for the interesting covers and the novelty (I generally don't collect Nintendo games, but I appreciate imports for any console) and would like to know what on Earth I actually bought.

Why, yes, yes I can. Starting top left:

It's Drift King 2. Part of the Shutokou Battle racing series. That one took a minute. Was thinking it was a mysterious dungeon game first.

Wonder Project J. You must raise a young boy robot in a sim with RPG elements. Has a pretty big fanbase and a translation patch.

Itadaki Street 2! Second game in the Fortune Street series. Great fun board game!

Ultra League: Moero! Soccer Daikessen! It's basically Mega Man Soccer, but with Ultraman characters. Hope that helps!

That helps a lot! Thanks! I don't have a Japanese Super Famicom to play them on (I only have a SNES mini which I've never even tried out, I have no idea where it even is) but I can at least try them out with emulation.

They had multiple copies of Romancing Saga 1 & 2, which I don't think would be easy to play without the ability to read the language. The booth had probably 30 to 40 cartridges. If I hadn't spent over a hundred bucks at the supermarket an hour before, I might have bought more than four cartridges.

No problem. Romancing Saga 1-3 are pretty cool, but the language barrier is very much a thing there. They do have english patches, though.

If you don't mind modifying your SNES, you can just take a pair of needle nose pliers and pull off the plastic tabs that stop the import carts from being able to be inserted. However, if you're like my brother, who doesn't care to modify his SNES Jr because they're harder to find, you can do the same to a Game Genie and use it as a pass through cart.

I always get a kick out of trying oddball cheap imports. Hope you find some fun! Itadaki Street 2 can be a real riot of a board game if you're into it, and is pretty playable if you don't mind memorizing a few menus. Only the venture cards provide some confusion, but even then it's fairly easy to tell what's going on. Anyhow, good luck!

When I acquire games which I have no idea of their title, I just search the catalog number and one or two keywords, like the platform or the publisher or developer.
Like searching "SFVC-12 SFC" shows me it's called "Itadaki Street 2 Neon Sign ha Bara Iro ni"

Actually, that never occurred to me. I have found a few imports here and there over the years but it never popped into my head to search the numbers like that. Thanks for the tip!

I don't really have the enthusiasm to go game hunting like I did in the past. I've found consoles and games from Japan and Europe many times, but those days are over now. Old games are just a commodity for people to buy and sell, there's nothing left in the wild that eBay speculators haven't snapped up. Even the old video gaming stalls at local flea markets that have been around for years have been closing down, since it's easier to sell online. I used to jump at the chance to go flea market shopping, now I can't even bother.

Though it doesn't compare to flea markets and garage sales, I still enjoy browsing eBay for unfamiliar potentially interesting games at reasonable prices. Japanese Playstation is still pretty good for this. Shipping costs have made a big impact but I pick up games I've never seen before (after doing some research on the title) for <$20 every so often, and I've yet to buy a complete dud.
That's not to say there aren't tons of games I'd not seen before but then researched the title or the developer's pedigree then taken a pass on.
Most recently I took a notice to Bomb Boat... there's hardly any info about it online. I'm hopeful it will be a fun PacMan derivative. Except that one wasn't "cheap". There are new copies on Amazon US (searching the Japanese title) for like $30-40, but that seems a bit steep for a "Super Lite" bargain game - it's the kind of game I'd expect to find used copies of for <$10. I can guess it was a late release and had limited print run. Anyhow.. still lots of interesting stuff to stumble upon out there.
