Default Old school NES Tecmo Bowl tourney

Old schoolers join in, as were trying to to set up a 16 man cash prize double elimination tourney featuring some best of 3 and 5 series action. A small amount of modified rules wil be addressed, but its for the most part an anything goes deal. The action will be held in Chicago, IL using the old NES.

*note*---this is for the original tecmo bowl, not the 2nd version called tecmo super bowl.....theres kind of a big diffference between the 2.

Setting up the tourney is Micheal Beales who has put on quite a few huge and succesful RBI baseball tourneys in Chicago. We will be playing on a standard 8-bit NES(no roms or anything like that) The link below should give you all the info you will need, or for more info send me a PM. At the moment there is roughly 9 players showing strong interest from various areas such as Iowa, Illinoise, Ohio, and Hamilton Ontario.

Sends this to a friend as he's really good at both games and keeps saying he'd wish something like this was available.

....but he's in N.J....so no hope of him going out there.. :/

Oh man, Classicb would be all over this if it werent so far away. Too bad this can't be accomplished using scores obtained through man vs. computer play. That would be a lot of fun as well. Maybe I'll set up a high score tournament like that for a different game...

Isn't Classicb a Tecmo Super Bowl snob? I know I am

Cool looking tourney though and they've already done it with RBI baseball another great game

yeah theres a huge difference between TB and TSB. Theres been some interest here and there, but about half of it's from ppl who wont, or cant travel to far. Do any of you know any good sprts/gaming forums that are based in Chicago? i think that would be a decent place to recuit more, since they would not have to travel so much.

the rbi tourneys have been huge. guys flying in from all over the US. I'm quite certain a tourney held for TSB would easily have 32, if not a bracket of 64 players. Beales would have his work cut out for him. Then theres the task of having enuf nintendo's

there is a guy is putting on a similar rbi tourney in columbus ohio in june, and he asked that maybe about half the ppl could bring thier nes to speed up things.

i would be interested in attending but i would need about a months notice to get my schedule in order (i am about 4 hours from Chicago). As others have said i am more of a TSB man. The RBI tourney also sounds great, my friends arent much competition these days.

if youve followed the link to the repository then get ahold of Beales, and he can fill you in. theres been no date set or anything, cause at the moment Michael is just seeing what kind of interest is out there. however let him know, or send me a PM and i can relay the info.

    thanks
