Just for reference, you have checked every game on the US list to check if they had a PAL counterpart right?

It was compiled from a mixture of (pretty sketchy) older online lists, early 90's Sega mags, a year or so of on/off eBay watching and a few other sources. I've seen some kind of solid proof for everything I've confirmed.

There's little point checking for a Euro equivalent of every US release since several publishers ignored Europe altogether.

That's what he's working on now, and what prompted his question. It will be in the database soon after any holes are filled.

Yeah, I sent the file back to Joe last night - should be up shortly
There's no rarity info yet, just a basic gamelist - haven't got the time to properly research it for now.

I'm almost sure Dracula was released in Europe. But won't take poison for it, as it's 10 years ago I sold my GG.

It's on the list as 'Bram Stoker's Dracula'
Oddly, that was one of the last ones I confirmed - spotted one on eBay Germany a few days ago.

that's one of Mr. Saturn's sites if i'm not mistaken (he has one for every Sega system, except DC) and they are usually quite reliable, he sometimes is missing games, but i haven't seen games listed that weren't released... if you need confirmation of something on his list i could ask him about it, he's active on a german board i visit

Yeah, that would be great if you could - it does look like a pretty solid list, but I'm wary of 'confirming' anything without at least seeing a picture. I'll PM you later on once I've had a chance to double-check his list for any I've not confirmed...

Yeah many have box scans on the site, but no actual cart pics.

Just a quick question, how do you distinguish PAL and US Game Gear games when they are cart only pics?

It's not always possible from just the cart - some US games have the purple stripe down the side, some PAL carts have -50 at the end of the 670-xxxx product code and the type-face used for 'Game Gear' on the cart can sometimes give it away aswell.
For any where it's not immediately possible to tell, I haven't confirmed them until I've seen a box. (For example, I'm fairly sure that The Majors: Pro Baseball had a European release, but still haven't seen a box and the cart is ambiguous. Unconfirmed until then!)

For the part # are you going to put the number on the side of the box, like your Mega Drive rarity list, or is it going to be cart part #?

It seems that not many games were release PAL, only 189 so far!

The box number. That's what the US list uses and it keeps things consistent with all the other Sega lists.

As I said, there's a few of the unconfirmed ones that I'm pretty sure exist, but want to be entirely sure before adding them (there's also some that I don't think exist, but I've mentioned them on the off-chance).
Possibly one or two others that have entirely slipped through the net so far aswell - I'd expect the final count to be around or just over 200.

Heh - I was actually looking at the site a couple of days ago, and used it to confirm a couple of other releases but must have missed that one. Cheers!
