Default Most you've paid for an accessory

I just bought a gun for 3d0 for $54 shipped and as my friend shakes her head in confusion I wanted to know what is the most you've ever paid for an accessory.

I've seen other threads like this for most paid for a single game, etc., but not for an accessory (although I could have missed the thread).

Latly I've been buying a lot of accessories for whatever reason (gameboy player for ngc, fishing rod for dc, sega net cart for saturn (which I'm going to sell because it's nib & I feel bad opening it!) and they sometimes really seem to add a lot to the game.

So maybe you haven't spent an arm and a leg on an accessory, but if you've got one that really adds a new feel to the game (as the fishing rod does for sega bass) then I'd like to know about it. And was the most expensive accessory worth it?

About $120 for a second Beatmania IIDX controller. Totally worth it, too. Heh.

Does Steel Battalion count? Even though it comes with a game? If so that for $200.

I want so many more accesories that I plan on picking up this summer. Like the sword for ps2 and Dreamcast Maracas.

$99 for X-Arcade and $99 for ASCII Keyboard Controller on GameCube... X-Arcade is a piece. And I'm not online with my GameCube, so the Keyboard was a waste... but I may take it online sometime. I just think its cool, its pretty comfortable to hold, very well made.

Not counting extra first party controllers and memory cards, It's a tie: $4.99 for a new MadCatz Retrocon controller for PS2, and a complete Genesis Game Genie. Yeah, I haven't bought many accessories. A Game Boy Player will most likely shatter the record sooner or later, though.

Heh. It was from that period in early 2004 where the controllers were pretty tough to find.

Makes sense. I can't even remember what I paid for mine (bought it off a friend)

Local Japanese toy store here (local as in about an hour away) has a IIDX ASC for...$445? Something above 400. I think it'll stay there for a while.

Well I have broadband adapters for my Dreamcast and Gamecube ... I know I paid over 50 for both my PS2 and my Xbox modchips ... if switchboxes count I have about $300 in switchboxes (not to mention cables). Do console copiers count as accessories? If so, throw in another grand or so.

Yeah, its a real wheel. Its a Thomas Superwheel PC steering wheel/pedals.

Some expensive stuff when you get into controllers for PC simulations. You can get desktop locomotive controls for train simulators, expensive flight yokes and rudder pedals for flight simulators, etc.

People that enjoy simulations tend to become obsessed.

I paid around $150 for the Elemental Gearbolt Assassins Case that contained a gold Guncon and PS1 memory card. Although, that was more of a promotional item than an accessory.

Just paid $130+ for a new Ace Combat 5 flight stick bundle a couple months ago.

$200 for a Hot Rod arcade joystick control for playing MAME on my PC.

$120 or so for a TV adapter for my Game Gear (I bought it new, years ago).

At least $60 for a CD drive for my Jaguar.
