    Default Yesterday's Downtime: Playing Catch-up!

So you my have noticed that there was no Roundtable for a full day yesterday. Holy withdrawal syndrome, Bat-friends!

The forum went down because our backups which run every night had not been cleaned up in ages - and we ran out of disk space! After 40 GIG was cleaned up, the site itself was clear. However, the forum database itself got corrupted in the process. Adam (SpasticFuctard) started a restore late Friday morning and it was chugging along but at some point in the late afternoon needed to be re-sterted. The thing finally finished around 12:30am EDT Saturday.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Digital Press is, and has always been a home-made labor of love. As much as we'd like to be available to provide 24 hour support, we'd really need to quit our day jobs to make that happen

There are TWO ways you can get your "emergency fix" of gaming chatter should anything like this happen again:

    1. The Classic Video Games Yahoo Group: A message board that you can optionally read and send to via e-mail, and full of your Roundtable friends. You can sign up on this page: http://www.digitpress.com/mailform.htm

    2. DP's Live Chat Channel, aka "VBENDER". Open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, you can jump in anytime here:
    http://www.digitpress.com/irc/index.htm

As always, we'll try to keep the downtime to an absolute minimum.

    Game ON, brothers and sisters.
    Joe

What's the address for the Yahoo group? I signed up for it ages ago but forgot the address to log into it. I did a search on Yahoo Groups for classic videogames and there were a few dozen hits.

The down time was just a chance to use other options of this site. Besides, since I have an old computer... I was laying blame on it. Since hearing what the problem was I still blame it. It's just easier that way.
