I have the circuitry figured out, I just need to find out if and where the RGB output points on the board are. Anybody here have any ideas.Originally Posted by kamino

Well worth the price!
Wow. That is a pretty good price for such a nice item. In all my years of collecting. That honestly has to be one of the nicest pieces. I have never seen that item before. I am saving the pics to my computer as we speak.
Great find. You have renewed my fire that good rare machines exisit. I am now on the hunt to find that elusive cliffhanger arcade machine that someone has covered up in there basement I know that type of dedication. I bet as you were driving up there you were thinking all kinds of thoughts. What a rush.

The trip went well with no problems. My biggest concern once I won it was how in the hell will I get it home. My SUV is bad as hell, but not big enough to hold something like that. I priced out a bunch of options, and fortunately my buddy lent me his mini-van to pick it up. I figure the trip with gas, tolls, meals, hotel, and what not, cost about $350.00. Well worth it in my mind. I'm still excited that I own it.
Mike,
My heartiest congratulations on this most righteous of finds. As a fellow P.O.P. Kiosk owner (of the 5200 variety), welcome to the club! It will indeed be the centerpiece of your collection.
Yes, yes, yes. I know the pain you went through to move it. Those kiosks are made of some sort of ultra-dense dark star matter material. Utterly insanely heavy and impossible to move. I may have written this before, but I had mine on my mother's front porch for a decade and finally had to move it because the porch it was on didn't have much of a foundation and the wall was starting to separate from the ceiling. It's now in my former art professor's studio's basement.Originally Posted by doubledownon11
I don't have the key for mine, but I do have the owner's manual! It will be helpful for when I finally have someone repair the RGB monitor, the video of which doesn't work at the moment, but once it's repaired, it will be in perfect condition!Originally Posted by doubledownon11
Yep, they really knew how to build these things back in the day, didn't they? They sure don't make them like that anymore.Originally Posted by Dangerboy
I'm afraid I'm going to have to robustly disagree with you on this point. I'm right-handed, and I've never understood the "joystick left, buttons right" configuration. I've always had to play arcade games cross-handed style. The way it's configured now is perfect! At least leave one side intact so when you have friends over to play it (*ahem*), they can play more effectively! (That's why I shun most "pro-joystick" controllers for most systems (e.g. NES Advantage) and seek out ambidextrous ones like the Beeshu Ultimate Superstick line.)Originally Posted by doubledownon11
Yep, some people have no decorum and are willing to trample over others just to get their greedy little hands on something they want. A few years back I had a deal worked out with someone here and all set to buy the item, and other people had emailed him with higher offers (knowing that I was all set to buy it), and effectively snatched it from me. Kind of like a pack of wild dogs who come along and take something right out of your mouth as you're eating it. But I'm glad you prevailed in the end!Originally Posted by doubledownon11
Once again, congratulations! That is indeed a beauty.
I got a chance to take some up close and more detailed pics.

k8track, you must be a huge fan of the SMS joysticks then! Once I get it completely refurbished and modded to my liking I'd love to have some people over to enjoy it. Who wants to make a trip to Toledo, OH?
lucky for you i completely missed that auction.
i must say i am not surprised one has eventually shown up, but i am surprised at how nice the condition is.
i am definetely impressed.

Great buy man, I'm certainly impressed!
My Gaming Collection (Now at Google Drive!)
I had a fairly serious max bid, I don't know if you would have gotten it away from my cold dead hands! :POriginally Posted by wberdan
As far as it's condition, it's been sitting in one place since the seller won it from Toys 'R Us 22 years ago. It's in unbelievable shape.
I'm still excited.
That's so cool, especially considering its great shape!!!
Congrats!
And I don't consider the buttons-to-the-left-of-joystick setup left-handed. In fact, it's right-handed. I'm a leftie, and I can't use the original Atari 2600 joystick because I can't use the fire button comfortably with my right hand without ending up with a cramp...
trust me, thats one of the only existing colecovision US items that i need- i would have fought hard.Originally Posted by doubledownon11

congrats!

Thanks to all for the congratulations and thoughts of jealousy. I really am proud to own such a precious piece of history for the game console that I truly have a passion for. It's been my absolute pleasure to share this display unit with you all, and preserving this jewel.
Congrats! Now I can add a new item to the list of awesome things I'm never going to have.
Maybe I'll sell ya mine, five ka-jillion dollars. I don't accept two-party, out-of-state, bad checks though. Payment must me made in circulated, non-sequential, un-marked nickels, and they all have to be shiney.Originally Posted by squidblatt
Luckily this isn't one of those SNES store commerical display thingys. If it was I'd probally go rob you . So what was your winning bid for this auction?
The winning bid was a measly $409.04. I was absolutely amazed that it didn't get any where near my max bid. As with every auction for anything ColecoVision the Great.Throwdini had his bid sniping software in place to try and take it from me, but no luck. "No Soup For You! Next!" Only $400? Woah, I would have thought that one of those would go for at least $1000. You got a steal!
