    Default Unknown Game

    Hey guys...

There was a game I used to play in either the late 80's or early 90's. It featured Raiden-style gameplay, where you were a ship and could power up your weapons. At one point, you powered up to where your ship turned into a bat and it actually shot bats. It was one of the best shooters ever, and I'm lost as to its name. I always thought it was a Scramble title, like Scramble Formation, but I have been unable to find it. Anyone remember this game?

    Thanks in advance...

    Default Unknown Game Followup

    Sorry...forgot to mention that.

It was in the arcade only, as far as I know. The backdrop was always some form of city, aka Raiden, but I never beat it, so I dont know if that changed eventually. Easily the biggest quarter-muncher I ever played, you figure I'd remember the name. But from playing Pong to Resident Evil 4, that name has slipped my mind these days...lol.

Thanks for the quick reply, too.

    Default Tokio? Hmm...

    Hey poloplyr...thanks for the reply.

Do you know for certain that you eventually turn into a bat in this game? Because I don't remember starting out as a little red plane, and I remember the background graphics being a little bit better. Of course, I could be jaded from post-years of PS2 and XBOX, and just be convinicng myself that the graphics were more advanced. The only thing I remember for sure is that you turned into a bat-thing, so if you can verify that for me, you will officially be 'THE MAN'...lol.

Thanks for the quick post too.

You do start as a red plane...can't really remember that you can turn into a bat though.

Yeah ajay, it was a cool game...

Poloplayr, I saw it on a friend's house in emulation, still didn't look familiar. The game started with you being a red plane, but as you powered up, all it did was add little red planes behind you...I dont know if that changes later on. I seem to recall you started as something like a jet or a starfighter, but as I said above, I could be remembering things wrong.

I appreciate the replies guys, thanks.
