A lot of people really like the PCE version of Salamander, but I've never played it. Go search the forum archive over Shmups.com and you can find more information about it.
As for Barunba, I've never heard of that one. Could you give a little more info about it? I might have heard of it by a different name or something.
I checked @ shmups.com before posting this thread. No info on the PCE version there. As far as Barunba, It's a Namcot hori shooter in which the weapon on your ship rotates, which is kind of a pain in the ass, but apparently integral to the game.

I have barunba and it is hard as hezellllll!!!!! you have to rotate your ship to shoot at angles. Basically it plays like a side-scrolling shooter. The enemies come in at angles, though, so you have to adjust your aiming, accordingly. Think Mr. Heli with an Ikari Warriors feel.
