Default anyone here into modding beyond mod chips?

such as what most of you know I do is painting the system

I like to experiment with different things like that or adding extra thing to the system.

soon im going to add neon to the clear case of my n64 .
not sure how well that will work because it may cause
    interference

anyone else here into tinkering ?

I installed an afterburner into my game boy advance. THIS IS THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO TO YOUR GAMEBOY ADVANCE EVERYBODY DO THIS IT IS INCREDIBLE. I also dyed the L, R, A, and B buttons, as well as the D Pad and the sides of my Glacier GBA a deep deep Navy Blue. It looks pretty cool.

    I agree.

I wouldn't have even thought about getting a gba without the afterburner mod.

I like to tinker. I'm not into "esthetic" mods, as I'm a bit of a purist collector. I like the "stock original" look only. For esthetics, I'll go as far as "restoration" but not custom flames or anything. to each his own, and I can appreciate a really cool custom esthetic mod.

That neon sounds neat, and would love to hear whther or not it did cause interference. What about power? Does the N64 have power to spare for a neon mod?

As soon as I get my extra DC fixed up, I think I'm going to paint it a pearlized or metalic pink. Maybe go for the expensive paint at PPG.

well I found a spot on the main board that produces 12v when the system is on.Ive hooked up 4 leds lights to it so the light comes out of where the controllers go.I powered 2 neon tubes at my desk at work with the n64 power supply so im sure it will work.but we shall see once I get some small neon.

My Dreamcast has a Blue DC spiral logo on the lid, so I changed
the Orance L.E.D to a blue one. Thats the only mod I'v done
    to any of my systems.

I just went to a very expensive crappy game store, All the game prices are higher than hell. but there was aton of people in them. no one buying anything.

Makes me thinki they do some mod or import stuff or under the counter who knows what.

anyways, they had stacks of PS2 Cases. not the flip tops or anything, just replacement cases, with all kinds of designs, clear plastic colored, you name it. I have never seen i before, anyone ever do that? and i mean the actual unit's casing, not like a carying case.
My life and perception has changed, but my principals are the same.
