Default How to remove paint from NES cart

I bought a cart that was written on with some sort of red paint pen. This is really hard to remove. I was using the magic eraser, which removes permanent marker easily. This managed to remove the paint from the "smooth" parts of the plastic after much scrubbing, but only lightened the shade of the paint on the "rough" plastic. I would try a paint thinner, but I only want to remove the paint, not the plastic. Any ideas?

I've used mineral spirits for removing white-out on carts without ill effect to the plastic. I'd stay away from any solvent stronger than that, especially if the paint thinner is the goopy kind.

Goo gone barely did anything. Niether did alcohol. I forgot to try lighter fluid, but it probably wouldn't help.
