FT: PC-FX System in Good Condition

    Hey everyone,

I don’t know how much interest this item will generate, but I thought I’d toss it on here and give it a shot. I’d love to be able to work out a trade for this cool little system. What we have here is a PC-FX system that’s in good condition. I say good as opposed to great or excellent because some yellowing has occurred both on the system and the controller that comes with it. I’ve included some pictures below that will hopefully show this in an adequate way. The system and controller were both yellow when I had purchased it from another seller some time ago. Included with the system and controller is all of the hookups and the instruction manual, which comes in a comic book-like protective sleeve. Although the system and controller are yellowed, both work very well without problems.

I’m in the process of completing my first trade with Testament89 so when he receives his game hopefully he can vouch for me. My feedback on eBay, while few in number, can be found under the username NickDHHH and stands at 100%.

Here’s what I would be interested in trading for, preferably complete with case and manual:
    Panzer Dragoon Saga (US, Saturn)
    Baroque (Import, Saturn)
    Shining Wisdom (US, Saturn)
    Linkle Liver Story (Import, Saturn)
Tenchi Wo Kurau II (Import, Saturn)
Crows: the Battle Action (Import, Saturn)
    Blue Seed (Import, Saturn)
    Deep Fear (Import, Saturn)
    Nekketsu Oyako (Import, Saturn)
Double Dragon II (Import, PC Engine Duo)
    Thousand Arms (US, PSX)
Persona 2: Eternal Punishment (US, PSX)
    Einhander (US, PSX)
    Dark Wizard (US, Sega CD)
    World Heroes Perfect (Import, Saturn)
Dungeons and Dragons Collection (Import, Saturn)
    Policenauts (Import, Saturn)
    Ane San (Import, Turbo Duo)
    Castlevania Chronicles (US, PSX)
    Last Alert (US, Turbo Duo)
Cosmic Fantasy 2 (US, Turbo Duo)
    Welcome House (Import, Saturn)
    Samurai Spirits RPG (Import, Saturn)
    Hissatsu (Import, Saturn)
    Hokuto No Ken (Import, Saturn)
    Keio Yuugekitai (Import, Saturn)
    Azure Dreams (US, PSX)
    Vasteel (US, Turbo Duo)

I believe that the Online Rarity Guide on this very site does a great job at figuring out what things are worth, so I tend to go by that. However, I consider myself to be a flexible person, and, with the colorization issue of this particular system, am open to offers that those interested think would be worth it. Don’t be afraid to toss me a PM and send an offer my way. Give it a shot!

    Thanks for listening.[/b]

Don't worry, I'll make sure to leave positive feedback for you.

Just makes me wish we didn't start a deal so soon now because that PC-FX sure would look good running a copy of Zenki in my room.

While this is a sort of side-track, what games are worth playing on the PC-FX? I was strongly considering getting one, but from what I've seen, it's home mostly to digital comic/hentai type stuff? Any good arcade stuff? Action stuff?

Neat looking machine - I want to want one (maybe even this one)

    I'm no expert...but I hear it's mostly video based anime games...few action games. That's why I don't have one.

Though...the best place to ask around would be www.pcenginefx.com

    ClubNinja,

I know exactly what you mean, believe me. PC-FX has some great games that you can play without much knowledge of Japanese: Battle Heat, Team Innocence, Chip Chan Kick, games like that. Zenki and Super God Trooper Zeroigar don't require much english either, but they're very difficult to find and are expensive to boot.

I was put into that same quandry of a few games that looked absolutely great that I wanted to play. And they turned out to be great games. But I've had my fun with the PC-FX, and it turns out that a lot of the games I really wanted to get into required too much Japanese for my blood (go figure, it's a Japanese system, after all. Duh on my part). So I know where you're coming from. I guess it all depends on how badly you want to play said games and how willing you are to try what really is a niche system.

No need to worry about any possible rips with Trevor Belmont, people. I just recieved his end of the bargain in a trade we're doing and it came ultra quick and well packed. Good seller here.

Is PC FX backwards compatible with Turbo/Duo games?

    Lord Contaminous,

Unfortunately, no, it is not. This is why, according to Pcenginefx.com:

19.0: Is the PC-FX backwards compatible with the PC Engine / TurboDuo / TG-16 / SuperGrafx / TurboExpress etc.? - No. The code for PC-FX titles is completely different from the 16-Bit generation, and vice-versa. Plus, the PC-FX would need the chipset of the 16-Bit machines to even run the games. NEC HE decided not to make it backwards compatible to cut costs
