Hardly the NES holy grail, but still a nice piece.

the very, very first releases of NES carts in canada and the USA contained famicom adapters. It seems as if nintendo just burned up some famicom versions of the games (of the black box series), stuck a 72pin converter on there and slapped them in a cart.

Needless to say, if you have a stack up cart, it will always have a famicom adapter inside of it (as it was only released once).

You can try your luck at finding other first release black box series titles with famicom adapters. Some that i know exist are excitebike, gyromite, pinball and stackup. I know there are a few more.

Alas, i have never seen a famicom adapter inside of a clu clu land (even though it was a launch title).

    Default Converter

    Yes,
This is the first time I ever found a Famicom to NES converter inside. I know that all Stack-Up carts are guaranteed to have these converters. However, I've checked so many Excitebike's, Gyromite's, Duck Hunt's, Hogan Alley's etc... and never found any. I heard that it's better to use the converter in a Top Loader Nintendo console opposed to the Front Loader as it's hard to reach the connectors on a Front Loading console.
Here is a cool link to learn more about these converters:

the canadian versions either have the mattel logo and/or bilingual (french and english) text on the box or cart.
