Default Flintstones Surprise at Dinosaur Peak, Have you played it ?

As per topic, have those who own it played it? Or any of you played it. We talk about its rarity, many looking for it etc, but nobody here has talked about playing it that I can recall ( may not mean much lol).

Well I pulled out my copy to check it out with my son last night. Let me tell you, it is a great game. Nice graphics for NES and a fun solid game. We did 4 or 5 of what appears to be about 10 levels, and I didn't realize it was such a good game. Difficulty is not real hard but just right for a lot of people I would guess. Seems it would be short to finish, but very enjoyable.

So if any of you collector types have it but haven't played it, get going, you will not be disappointed.

Not only have I played it, I have beat it! It plays exactly like Flintstones 1, except that you can switch back and forth between Barny and Fred. That last stage is actually kind of tough (it was for me at least). Although the bosses are EASY!!! The last two bosses have a very obvious pattern, and if you just stand in the right place, you can wail away on them (like last boss in Super C).

I like FS 2 much better than 1 for some reason. They look and feel like they are the same game but going through 1 seems much more laborious while going through 2 is quite fun. But I did get a kick out of the last boss in FS 1; how he kept hobbling off the screen a little more wounded each time until he was literally crawling away from you.

I'm lucky to have stumbled upon two cheap loose copies of the game a while back, and I agree that the game is actually quite good. I think one of my favorite parts are the little sports mini-games that are thrown in (hockey and basketball for sure.......are there any others?) - I love little extras like that. I have not beaten the game yet, although it doesn't seem like it would be too difficult of a task. I've also not played FS 1, so I can't make any comparisons, but if it's as good as FS 2, I really should check it out sometime.

I personally hated this game while I had it. I didn't think it was fun at all. Only thing good about it was that I sold it for a profit.

I own it... but I haven't played it.
    Why?
    Because I'm an idiot.

I'm 100% sure that I rented this game back in the day. I really liked it, though there was this one level where you're running from a giant boulder inside a volcano that was completely freaking impossible. I'd love to get the game again someday, though I'm not willing to pay $80+ for it...I'm a cheapass at heart, I suppose. :/

i like it much better then the first one. fred pulls himself up the ledges faster in part 2 & i like the fact that you can switch between the two. i beat them both, but would rather play part 2 again. the graphics are great, the game play is easy(as already mentioned). the last level where you are traveling through the lava is very difficult and it took me a while to get the hang of it.

for the money i spent, i better like this game.

Yep, its almost exactly like Flintstones 1. Just new levels and you can play as barney too. The basket games have been changed with icehockey instead also. I played through it the first time I tried it. If you can find it I would recommend to buy it. Its a great game!

I am not playing again yet on purpose, because I plan to sit down and play it in a sitting at next chance. I haven't even really given the first Flintstones a chance but it sounds like I will have to some time soon as well. At least if you buy this game , you get some well worth it playability, plus a nice piece for the collection.

Played it for a bit right after I bought it from a fellow DPer a while back and thought it was pretty fun. I have not played FS 1 yet But from what everybody else say I suppose they are about the same.

I played through and beat the first game. I always had kept my eyes open for the second one, but since I had never found it in the wild, I've never played it.

I almost spent quite a bit on a copy recently, but considering I don't really collect NES games and I probably would want to keep it after purchasing it, I have opted so far to avoid it.

As much as I dislike emulation, I should probably try it that way...
