    Default 72 pin connector woes

I just replaced my pin connector, and now, instead of a flashing red screen (for some reason this NES has always had a red screen instead of the traditional blue) now its just solid red (or pink, depending on how far right or left i scoot the cart once its in place. Did I err somewhere in installation? Should I have cleaned the connectors that the pin connector connects to? All my NES games are clean, they work like a dream with the Super 8. I'm very frustrated >

Pull it. Clean everything. Put it back together. Try again.

I've installed more than 20 new pins, and have never had one fail. The only way I get blink with a new pin is a diiiiiiirty cart.

    yellow pins?

If any of the traces (lines) on your circuit board got scratched in the process of trying to replace your 72 pin, you could very well have permanently damaged your NES.

Circuit boards are fragile, and should be treated with utmost care and respect when exposed. Sometimes force is required to remove a 72 pin, but one MUST use care and patience when applying said force. Impatience kills.

I know. I wrecked a perfectly fixable DC, by screwing in a slightly longer screw in a spot where a slightly shorter screw was supposed to go. One small scratch on the circuit board, and that DC will never boot again.
