heres a page written by myself which will tell you which region snes controllers work on which region consoles, and how to modify a controller to be 'universal' so as to work on any region console.

    Default 5200 Joystick Repair Guides

Here are two guides I wrote sometime back for a nice cheap and fairly easy repair for those pesky 5200 controllers.

Here is the non-flash/BW step-by-step guide

    http://members.cox.net/crossbow777/g...gd/5200_rep_gd

And here is a simplied version of that same guide as a Flash presentation...

    http://members.cox.net/crossbow777/g...00_basic_flash

    Enjoy...

TurboDuo laser replacement... I just did this repair today, and it worked beautifully! The process is easy, but the guide is useful because it tells you exactly what part you need and where to find it.

I found this today and thought it would really help, as it did for me.

If you're having trouble with the shoulder buttons on a DS, before you bring it in for repairs or take it apart, try blowing hardly, or using compressed air, right at the separation between the case and the button. My R button hasn't worked for months, but this fixed it in about 15 seconds.

Shameless plug, but I do have parts for old non-PC computers (Apple, Atari, TRS-80, TI, Commodore, and more) and older game consoles (Gen 1 Genesis and older)...

    http://www.arcadecomponents.com

My repair logs are kept here:
    http://newlifegames.net/nlg/index.php?board=19.0

I hope they help you keep your systems running for years to come!

If it's not proper to post, feel free to flame me in a PM.

Game Gear screen and sound fix. Also fixes units that shut off by themselves.

Default HELP! Saturn won't read game disc

Everything was working, then yesterday my Saturn starts "reading disc format", then goes to "start application" button. Today "reading disc format" and that's it. NO MORE GAMES?!?!?
Is there a fix for the laser or is it something else? maybe the disc isn't spinning fast enough? spin motor goig? The disc is tight on the spindle. Any insight on my problem? I'll buy another console, IF I HAVE TO, but would rather repair, IF I CAN. As it stands right now, I have nothing to lose by trying it myself.
Stupidity got us into this mess......why can't it get us out?

This thread has a fairly comprehensive list of CD lenses used by various consoles.

Mob was it necessary to calibrate the Laser, or was it just plug and play?

They should be plug and play. (I can't remember but there's probably an anti-static point you have to remove though)
