Default Interceptor floppy for Sega MD - real price?

    Hi there!
A friend of mine is selling a rare gem that he acquired like 6 years ago through his friends in Taiwan.
    Here is the image:

    http://molotok.ru/imageupload/c/b/8/...00ea1da8eb.jpg

It is called Interceptor and is a floppy drive that can save games from carts onto floppy.

The problem is that we cannot find any information about it and we do not know the real price of it.That's where we need your help.

PS: He also sells it bundled with his Sega MD.

There's quite a few similar devices, I believe they usually sell for somewhere between $50-$150 depending on the model.
I wouldn't try selling it on eBay though - they'll yank it if it's spotted.

Do you know if it's the 8 megabit or the 16 megabit version?

The Mega Disk Intercepter was a decent copier for its time. The 8 megabit version could be upgraded to 16. I'm not too sure about the differences between the two versions. I have read conflicting reports, some say that you can play other copier formats (like the MGH) while others say you can't. Guess I'd just have to mess with it to find out.

Is the copier itself in Japan or Russia? I'd hate to think what shipping would be like from either place.

    I don't know. I will ask.

It's in Russia. However if a seller will be willing to ship it worldwide i'm sure it will be exact shipping.

ok this is my crappy translation from seller:

The version is 16mbit if you mean the maximum size that can be written. It can be 12mbit written on 1 diskette and then asks to insert another diskette and writes another 4. If the cart of bigger size inserted then u can also write it on diskettes and further loading from them works fine. But if you remove cart then and load straight from the disks the maximum you get working is intro or menu.

He also said he could ship it worldwide.

If the will be some cool offers to buy it here - we'll take it into consideration. If not - i guess we'll try luck on ebay.

You'll be lucky. eBay doesn't take well to devices for pirating games.

    really?
But i saw tons of modded saturns sold without problems. And i guess this device is not really made for pirating. It's more like a dev-kit.
