Default Classic games that could be improved with the DS

The DS is a great little system. Yes, the games might suck, but the system will be on everyone's hands once Animal Crossing goes online. Nintendo made Animal Crossing better by using the touch screen to write letters and make designs on clothes. They also used its wi-fi capabilities to go online. This is how Nintendo made Animal Crossing better. What classic game would you make better?

I think that games like Deja Vu, Deja Vu II, and ShadowGate would take great advantage of the touch screen. Imagine touching the screen instead of moving that little hand all over the place.

What classic game would you change?
All my meseta if you can guess what CMTZ stands for.

    Tempest.

Although that would be my choice for every modern system, as long as Jeff Minter was in charge of it

Qix seems a natural for a stylus. Action RPGs/dungeon crawls would benefit from having a subscreen constantly up for selecting items, weapons, or spells on the fly.

I'd like to see some old rpg's utilize the stylus for quick hit menu selections. It would keep the games flowing. Also it may be interesting to see if they could apply a "direct hit" Mortal Kombat. Can't really put that one into words (brain fried right now), but basically a more selective hit than high or low. Of course if you play too long, then the wife or girlfriend or whoever may apply some direct hits too.

SNK Vs. Capcom: Card Fighters' Clash could make use of the touch screen during matches and for deck building.

Imagine a Lucasarts Collection on DS, making full use of the Touch Screen

Monkey Island, Indiana Jones, Sam n Max, Day Of The Tentacle...

Point and click games would be the best use of the DS IMO...

    Tetris.

As the pieces begin their decent, you must draw the appropriate shape where you would like the piece to fit. That could get quite hectic

Any of the light gun games like Duck Hunt, Gumshoe, Hogan's Alley, etc. would be well suited for the stylus.
RIP bargora, you will be greatly missed. That is how we do things on Giedion Prime.

Any RPG or Strategy game. They would really excell on the DS.
As cauterize said Lucasarts style point and click games would be brilliant and would completely suck up my life.
Shmups would be great with the stylus for quick accurate moving (I think)
Oh and give us Mario Paint DS
I believe the DS could do most games better as long as the developers actually use their heads and play to its strengths

Warlocked for the Game Boy Color... That game would go perfectly on the DS, or at least a sequel. Maybe move their cancelled GBA sequel, Wizards, to the DS. Or the best scenerio: Develop an entirely new Warlocked-style RTS for the system, and include online play!

Beat me to it. Qix would be AMAZING with stylus-based controls. I also agree that shadowgate would be awesome as well.

Oh, and it's not "classic" per se, but Magic Pengel would be freaking amazing with the stylus. Actually drawing the monsters with a pen? Sign me up for that.

I wouldn't, because after they managed to cut TWO CDS worth of data to fit on a DS card, it would be stripped down beyond recognition. And even if they managed to make it run somehow, that screen is waaaay too small for the game's resolution. And what would you do with the second screen?
