Well there is a Tawanese pirate of Phantasy Star IV for MD....remade for the Famicom. I know, that's different.

It's called Wai Xing Zhan Shi ( = Alien Soldier).

I've been looking for it for a long time, but no luck. If anyone can help, I would be most appreciative ($). The Rom is floating around...it's actually pretty cool (yet scaled back)!

You should also check out Tiger Hunter Hero Novel. It's a great Chinese strategy/RPG that plays very much like Shining Force.

I found more information about Barver Battle Saga.
Looks like it was translated into russian by some chinese hackers and is being sold in our marker for a long time! WOW. I haven't paid any attention to our pirate sega market for a long time although i'll check this one for sure.
Strangely it was translated to "Final Fantasy". Who knows why. But this is it.. lol. And it also has built in memory (pirate memory carts rarely had working memory. but it looks like a progress) and a booklet with VERY chineseish "russian" (total SHIT!).

Looks like the game is VERY BUGGED. And one person says it hangs at the very end somewhere and if full of bugs in process. Although it is still playbale and is a gem indeed cause we never saw it as a cartridge, even a pirate one. I guess i'll check the stores and look if i can purchase it myself and show it to you all.

I'm not sure where Divine Sealing and Earth Defense originate from, but they're unlicensed shooters for the Megadrive.

And Soul Blade vs Samurai Shodown sounds like the best game ever. I really want to have a crack on that.

Just found a video of Rockman X3 on the Megadrive. That looks pretty cool too.

Rockman X3 really is a descent port, although not as good as the SNES-version.

At the upper side of the Tekken box it is written : "fightings" and at the bottom: "16 bit cartridge". lol

I own a few unlicensed Mega Drive games which are Lion King II, Divine Sealing and Dial Q Wo Mawase. The last two are Japanese while the Lion King II is Chinese. I also had a scrolling Beat'Em up like Capon's Knight's of the Round game but I sold that. That actually came in a pretty cool card box.

Here is a photo of the two Japanese cartridges I own. THe CD SIngle is the Dreamcast Song. I took the picture for another site a few days ago.
