Hi,
Quick question, how can I distinguish between an American and a European copy of Golden Axe Warrior, are there any indicators on the case, the book, and/or the cart? Thanks!
Hi,

That's a slightly tricky one since the Euro GAW also has a US-style manual and an English-only box.
SMS Power labels their scan as both US & EU, but I suspect that's an error (the one shown there has a Euro barcode).
I'd imagine that the US version credits 'Sega of America' or Tonka on the back of the box, but can't be sure since I've only got a Euro copy.
Has yours got a barcode number? If so, what is it?
well, I'm at work now, but I remember distinclty when I saw the box yesterday that someone has stuck a barcode over the original (on the plastic, not stuck to the paper under the plastic). There appears to be a barcode underneath the plastic as well. I can't remember the number but I'll check when I get home. Does that help? If its a US barcode, what numbers should I look for?
The barcode on my Euro copy is '4 974365 635657'.
From the few I've got, 1st-party US games all seem to be of the form '0 10086 0xxxxx'.
The number under the UPC sticker is very similar to your euro #. The number on the UPC sticker is 0 10086 07505. Maybe I lucked out and got a US copy sheerly by chance
I googled the upc number (sticker) on my copy of Golden Axe Warrior, and found this thread. So it looks like this is the US UPC code.. Is there any other way to tell?
Thanks!
It is the US UPC, which makes it the "US" version.
It's still the UK version, with just a UPC sticker on top of the plastic, staring with "010086".
So yeah, the only difference between the two is the UPC sticker. That's it.
