Default No NES games in Animal Crossing DS!

Blah - a new article running on IGN's DS section confirms that there will be no NES games in the upcoming DS version of Animal Crossing! What a terrible idea. The only reason I played the Gamecube version was to get NES games to play. No way I am buying this title now. I guess they do make a ton off of those NES classics series - probably more then enough to offset the loss.

wow, this REALLY shows nintendo's true color now. they want us to shell out 10-20 dollars for those lame NES series and took it out of Animal Crossing DS on purpose, there is no other explanation, not enough room? bullshit. poor controlling for nes? bullshit. wrong console to do it on? bullshit.

ill still be buying it.... but certainly not on release day, ill wait till some disgruntled gamer throws it for cheap on ebay or my local store or something. how absolutely lame.

    You just now noticed this?!?!?!??!!!

Why is this suprising considering the GBA NES Classics are still in stores (at $5-$20+ a whack) and playing old NES games seems to be the main selling point of the Revloution so far? Honestly, this is right in line with what they've been doing all along.

This does not bother me at all. I think that the NES games thing was neat, but it is by no means a dealbreaker as far as I see it. I hardly played the NES games at all in Animal Crossing.

Now here's an idea though. If they included 2 player NES games and let you play Ice Hockey while online with someone else within Animal Crossing, then that would be incredibly cool. But the removal of the NES games is not a big idea.

Maybe Animal Crossing will serve as a way to interact with people to play DS games? maybe you could walk up to your friend in animal crossing and say, hey, let's play New Super mario Brothers, then you swap the cartridges and play, then swap back when you're done. Yes, I know it wont happen.

I think I can get over the lack of NES games as it is a bloody amazing game regardless. I don't think I ever played it to play the NES games.
So yep, I don't mind...I just want the game to come out...now!

FACT - NES Classics can now be purchased from $2.99-$9.99.
FACT - Revolution will have downloadable games (some free)
FACT - Animal Crossing is an awesome game, and removing a handful of games I already own won't effect my purchase

For me the NES games were the big rewards. Sure a nice couch or whatever is fun, but the joy I got whenever I recieved a new NES game was unrivaled. I really don't want Animal Crossing DS now. Sure it's a fun game, but it's a lot more shallow without the NES games in there.

I hope you bought it as a Players Choice game. Otherwise, paying 50 dollarws for a handful of games that equal 2 US Dollars a cart seems like you got ripped off.

I liked the included NES games in AC, but they're not the selling point for me. I'm definitely still getting this for the DS, NES games or not.

Yes, who needs online play? NES games are where it's at.

Yeah, forget this game! We want NES games! Nintendo can just keep the Wi-fi connectivity, the ability to visit other villages over the internet and the near infinite customability options! Yeah! Wait...

Better than that - I got it for free with my gamecube, along with Mario Kart and a 15$ off voucher. It was one of the Black Friday cube sales last year :P

So then you never purchased the original, therefor not supporting it with financial backing. So your threatening doesn't mean anything, because you would have waited to get the DS one for free :P

I put well over 300 hours into the original, and less than one hour playing the NES games I won.

I'll still buy this on release day, NES games or not, doesn't much matter to me.

Well maybe Nintendo felt they were loosing money, so they had to act fast.

Honestly, I was one of those people who had to play this game just because it had NES games on top of it.

Yet little did I know how much more effort I put into this game to earn them, did I see the true value of what this game can offer per day. The Holidays, the furniture and such.

One thing I hope they focus on is a bigger House, because I felt even the final add-on to your home was still a bit too small.

I'd say, we make it harder like the N64 version, which REALLY makes you want to play an entire year just to get one to three NES games for sure!
These cartridges are dirty as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!

I should clarify - I used a Action replay to get all the NES games. I enjoyed the 20 or so NES games more then I enjoyed the game itself. Is that so bizarre? I know, I know, I'm sure you have some oh so clever response.... x_x

There is no Action Replay for the DS. Your initial post said "no way am I buying this now," indicating that you planned on purchasing Animal Crossing DS. Am I to understand, then, that your initial plan was to buy and play a follow-up to a game you don't enjoy, for several hours, hoping to unlock a few old games you could easily download for free and/or purchase for less than half the price of Animal Crossing?
