    Default Replacing a Lithium battery

I was wondering if anyone on this board has ever replaced the battery in any of the nes zelda Carts? I recently called nintendo to see if this wasa service they still did and they said the cart should be good for 5 years, I was like ok but the game has been out for more then 5 years so I think it's safe to say It will not save anymore. He was then well you can send it back for inspection and if it's beyond repair we will send it back to you, With an inspired look I said thank you and I hung up. So yeah have any of you guys had luck with this?

    Thanks

Yeah. It's no big deal. In fact, if your Zelda cart was one of the first batch released, it won't even have security screws. My Zelda cart has five little flathead screws, as opposed to the later three inverse torx screws.

Anyway, even if you DO have the little star shaped screws, just buy a gamebit from an electronics supply store (or any number of places online) and no more problem. From there, it's just a simple matter of replacing the battery. Some just have a simple spring clip holding the battery in place and for contact, others have it soldered to the contact.
