Default Where can I get new SNES controllers?

I was looking for some new SNES controllers. Nintendo still sold them up until very recently, but I just checked the site and for some reason they no longer have them. They still sell the NES dogbone controllers, but it seems like the SNES ones are out of print. Ebay seems infested with the crappy 4$ imitation chinese ones. Does anyone know of an online source for new Nintendo brand SNES controllers?

Good luck, you probably have to pay over $10 for each one.

Yeah, probably. I know the new dogbone controllers are $15 each.

I bought 2 directly from Nintendo last year, along with an AC adapter. Of course, I went into customer service in Redmond, but if you contact them they'll probably help you out.

Not exactly what you're after. But the wireless controllers playmessiah.com makes absolutely kickass. So if you're looking for something in additon to the offical stock controllers, you can't go wrong with those.

I will second the Messiah controllers, although since you said you don't like the feel of 3rd party ones you might not like these either.

This weekend I have been in Game Crazy, GameStop and GameXchange, and all three of them had official (used) SNES controllers for around $5 each.

I dunno with the exception of the circular d-pad I thought the buttons on Messiah's controller felt as firm as the first party. 3rd party controllers for me always feel a little flimsier and cheaper- which is definately not the case here.

Although he may not like them regardless but still- cool substitution.

I thought about the messiah controllers... The circular pad is scaring me off. That, and that the wireless is 2.4ghz. I know that is the same that 802.11b routers use - and my SNES is about two feet away from the router. I wonder if one would harm the other.....

Nope, they won't have a problem, and if they did the Messiah controllers have 4 channels to fix the situation.

Can't answer your router question, but honestly the circular d-pads aren't as scary as they look. It functions like a normal d-pad but the plastic's cut into a circle as opposed to a cross. Sometimes it's a little tricky catching an exact up, down, left or right in games like Street Fighter where the combos really rely on precision. But with a little practice your thumb soon adjusts to the difference.

Hmmm. And I do have a birthday coming up. Perhaps I will try to get the wife to get me one

It would still be nice to have one new Nintendo brand one around as a backup though. I have several used ones, and the ones that came with the thing on launch day, but they have been beat to hell and back, repaired, taken apart, cleaned, glues, ect... It would just be cool to have a new one.

I'm glad I purchased a new SNES controller from Nintendo when I did. I bought a couple crappy imitation ones off ebay and they gave me a headache to even use.
