Lets be anal about this once its setup.

That looks great! Keep up the good work. If you need name confirmation or US comparisons for you stuff toss either Dangerboy, kevincure or myself a list and let us at it.
Because it makes no attempt to be great, it is therefore extremely great.

Starting is easy, finishing is hard. I think I've been working on the scans for the better part of a year now...just got a sudden drive to finish it when I realied how close I was. I'm sure everyone interested will know as soon as I get this done.

Actually, I've noticed that the original version of A.IV (the one that had a box-set version) was never released outside Japan. There was a "Global" version released there, too, and that's what English-speaking people got. I checked my copy of the US version and the intro cinema still says "A.IV Evolution Global".

Oddly enough, Artdink changed their logo sometime between these releases.

Thanks for the support, everone. I'll continue toiling away at it, though it may take a few months unless I decide to devote an entire weekend to it sometime...periodic updates may show up at the address above, so if you notice anything amiss, post it here or PM me. Especially contact me if you have additional information (especially photos) of the "unconfirmed" releases"...there's a couple of them in this update.

Milestone hit (500 entries, which is about an eighth done!), so an update here.

    http://home.comcast.net/~jdr99/psxlist_preview.htm

Let me know if you spot any mistakes or omitted info...especially if you have further details on the "unconfirmed" titles.

I'll continue plugging away at it. :P

    @Dimitri

got "Taiho Shichauzo! (You're under arrest)" limited edition today - do you have some info for that game? It comes with a DVD and a small board game. Sadly the spine card is missing.

Recently I started putting all of my games into the DP online guide lists, and found it remarkably complete until I got to the PS1 section - according to the online guide, Tekken and Soul Edge were never released in Japan!?!

I have over 100 import Playstation games, and I'm beginning to think that most of them are not in the guide

Several years ago I started working on a PS1 game title translation list, based on the information from the Sony Japan database, but I gave up when the release count hit about 1500, and I had only translated/autotranslated about 700-800 titles. I'd be happy to send you the work I did for inclusion in this list (sometimes the autotranslations were somewhat loose - one game auto-translated as "Talented Leech Child's Big-Ass Boat Race")

I would definitely like to see these fields:
    Order number
    Japanese title
    Transliterated title
    Translated English title
US/Europe release title and order number
    Links to all reissues
    Genre (according to Sony)
    Developer
    Publisher
    Price in yen
    Rarity
    Print run size

Never fear! I'm still working on this, though schoolwork and job-seeking has slowed it down a bit. I'm currently at about 1100 entries, and I'm nowhere near even half done. Perhaps I'll work on it a bit tonight...got the time for once.

AtariBuff: That was a later release (2000, 2001 somewheres I believe) so I haven't gotten to it yet. Thanks for the tidbit about what's included, though. It might not have come with a spine card in the first place -- a lot of the LE sets that came in oversize boxes never had spinecards. Beltlogger 9 is one that comes to mine immediately for some reason...

I'll probably upload a new version sometime tonight or tomorrow.

EDIT: Updated version can be found here:
    http://home.comcast.net/~jdr99/psxlist.htm

This thing is quickly growing quite large. The bare HTML is about 450k already!

hmmm, then maybe I have a complete copy...

thanks for your insights - I should get a big boxed "Horned Owl" incl. the light gun soon so maybe I can provide you with some data there aswell.

    keep it going, Dimitri

And it's updated once again! Man, Excel creates incredibly inefficient HTML files... Before long I'll have to start compressing this thing.

1340 entries at the moment...any errors, corrections, or additional information for existing entires (I'm still working through the list for the first time -- I haven't gotten to everything yet!) should be either PM'd to me or posted here.

    http://home.comcast.net/~jdr99/psxlist.htm

AKAs and "Released as..." entries in particular are always welcome.

    Dimitri,
    this is outstanding work
As stated before I got "Horned Owl" (big box w/Lightgun - was it sold seperately also?) - do you need any data from this release?

Glad to see it's appreciated. A description of what's included (was it a Guncon, or some other brand of light gun?) would be quite handy, as would a photo of the box (or the box with the contents strewn about it) if possible. I haven't reached this game in the list yet as the part number (SCPS-10017) is higher than where I'm at...creating a backlog of information gives me incentive to get off my ass and work on it more, though.

There was a release without the gun, yes -- that's what I usually see up for sale, actually...

Only copy on Yahoo at the moment...

    Ding! Another update!

    http://home.comcast.net/~jdr99/psxlist.zip

It's compressed now, as the raw HTML is almost 700k.

Currently over 1500 releases, and I'm starting to come across reprints...LEs especially are a pain. I certainly wouldn't mind if someone wanted to find out what's in all those boxsets for me... x_x There's a handful of unverified releases in there, if anyone feels like checking Yahoo for them periodically...

Yeah, yeah, I know it's not a huge update over last time, but I've been working on an unrelated (but still game-related) project that some of you might be interested in as well (I'll certainly announce it in the appropriate place as soon as it goes live)...and we're almost ready to launch. Well...that and school...

Hope the next one comes a bit sooner.
