Default What's The Greatest Gaming System You've Never Owned?

There's a lot of great systems out there but, with the exception of a few, most of us haven't owned them all. So, what's the best system you never owned...not even for a day? For me, it's probably the Neo Geo but I could never afford that...so if I discounted that it would be either the Intellivision or the Vectrex. I'm sure the Intellivision was cool but the Vectrex was beyond cool...I wish I'd owned it...but I never have.

whoops! it was greatest system youve NEVER owned.

i would have to go with the turbografx-16, as i have owned all the other major ones since 1990. i hear it has some good shooters, and i like castlevania...

Sega Genesis. I know I could pick one up fpr less than $20, but I never really made a commitment to do so.

Probably turbo graphix, but I'm not sure if there's anything on the system I'd really want that badly. I would like a neo geo system too, but the games are way too expensive.

3DO. How could anyone not want to play Gex. I loved the 3DO when my friend showed it to me.

Easily the Dreamcast for me. There are SO many underrated games for that system, I wish I had one. I've just been too lazy or cheap to get one and a decent library.

    But seriously, the Dreamcast rocks.

    TurboGraphix 16

I lusted over this sytem whenit came out. I used to stare at it through the glass at Toys r Us, wishing I could have it. Through the years it stayed in the back of my mind, taunting me. I've never seen one in the wild. I found some games one day, but no system. Eventually my desire turned to the Turbo Xpress. It fit in better with my handheld obsession, but it was still a TurboGraphix. One day I'll get one, I'm just not sure when it'll be.

Perhaps I should've asked people to say why they never got that system. For me, I now hesitate to get a Vectrex as I'm afraid the screen might go bad and I'll not have any clue how to get it fixed. For the Intellivision, I never like the controllers. And, as I said before, the Neo Geo was just too darn expensive...expecially where the games are concerned.

Atari 2600 my Grandma had one and i played it all the time as a kid. I loved that thing I'm not sure why i've never got one. I guess most of the thrift stores i fequent haven't seemed to turn any up yet but I'll grab one as soon as they do. I actually have a list of systems i'd like to get that i've never owened and it goes a little something like this.

    Atari Jaguar
    Neo Geo
    Sega CD
    32X
Turbo Duo or CD add on
    Super Grafx

Other than those I've already gotten every major system I've ever wanted.

I would have to say Neo Geo, I've always wantedto get one. The system is just to expensive plus the games are sick in price aswel. The price is why I have never owned one.

Turbo Grafix 16 or the Neo Geo. The Neo Geo was always way too expensive for my parents. One of my friends used to have a Turbo Grafix 16 and I loved it but my parents thought my NES and SNES were enough, system-wise.

My first was an Atari 5200, so I never owned a 2600. There's some cool games for it but I don't ever see myself getting one. Pressure Cooker was released on the GBA so all is well in my world!

Probabley Playstation 1. I have a PS2, but don't own a single PS1 game or anything, so I think that qualifies. I was out of gaming for most of the PS1 years, and was a Nintendo guy anyways, so when I would play, I was playing N64. I have owned all of the other great/popular systems from the NES-current.

Another one I always wish I had was the Turbografx-16.

When it came out, my parents wouldn't let me get one. I was operating on a two dollar per week allowance, and I said I was going to save up for it myself then. My mother told me, "By the time you save up enough money, there'll be some new thing you want instead." I guess she was right, because I never got one. Of course, it's hard to save up that much money.

And now look at the prices on TG-16 stuff. It's nuts. Which makes me even MORE sorry that I didn't get one back then. And currently building a respectible TG-16 library is out of my budget. I just collect for what I already have.

One day though, just maybe I'll get one. If they're even able to be found by then.

Or perhaps that Japanese free emulator will make some strides in the near future.

Panasonic 3DO FZ1. I saw one in my local pawn shop, it was complete with no games for $59 but, I don't know if that's a good price.

Either the Vectrix, or Neo Geo. Maybe the Dreamcast as well.

Neo-Geo, but like you, i would never be able to afford such libraries as i have for my other cherished systems, so my other choice is definately the Sega Saturn. its a cool system with lots of games id like to play (even now), i never got one then cause after the SCD and 32X everyone pretty much abandoned hope in the Saturn, and it wasnt hyped enough, so my friends and i stayed with our SNES and waited for the Playstation.

i really really want to get one now. itll have to be mint and complete of course, im kinda dettered by the high prices of the games and hardware i want for it (pro action replay and the WD games) so unless i get a great deal ill hold off till i can complete my Genesis, SCD, PSX, and SNES collections. (my 'collections' consist of games i like and would enjoy playing, i dont buy every damn game available.)
