    Default SNES Emu for NDS

Anyone actually tried the newly released SNES emu? Even though it's very early, I heard Super Mario World and others work almost perfectly. The authors are hard at work and doing major improvements by the hour...

Thank god, my only reason for buying a PSP is now gone.

I'm hoping Nintendo themselves will re-release SNES classics for it, with some added compat. Imagine playing SMRPG, and flipping through items and attacks via. the touch screen! :P

I havn't personally tried this yet, as I don't have a PassMe, SlapMe, Compatable Network Card or Christmas Card.

    But it does interest me!

How on EARTH can this thread get so few replies? This emu is looking AMAZING...and on a piece of hardware with perfect button/control layout too.

    Third Party flash cards.

I still think the PSP emulation is easier, better and more exciting overall.

    Here's the simplified rundown...

first of all you need to update the firmware, which is done by flashing i using either PassMe or WifiMe (google it). Then you use GBA flashcarts with the snes emu and roms injected into to play.

I'll check it out later today, but for anyone who's tried it, how's the speed? Is it running SNES games at full speed with sound?

EDIT: You've gotta mess with the DS firmware to run 'brews? Never mind.

Honstly I thought that I would have been all over this by now. And if I did NOT have a PSP, I would totally have modded out my DS.

Fact is that PSP emu is taking alot of my time and the DS scene -
1.) has not been bursting with anything until only very recently and 2
2.) it requires that ugly looking pass-me thing right now and on top of that you need to have another regular ds game stuck in it (that is if you are going to play DS roms too - it needs a regular ds game in there so it has a save bank for your game). So the pass me and the game while stick out of the top, looks like having a game genie stuck in the top of your DS! Ugly!

Plus you've gotta upgrade your firmware and I don't know if I want to do that b/c NO ONE knows if that will interfere with the DS going online later this year - since that's the only reason that I bought the DS, I be waitin' foo!

but if you have gone through with it, then I hope you are enjoying your DS roms more than your SNES roms.

Hmm...doesn't look solid enough for me to want to try out yet. Maybe when something more convincing is released.

As I reading MUCH bullcrap in this thread I'm trying to clear this:

    1) The emu runs full-speed and has sound(like the new NES emu for DS).
    2) You need a PassMe and a Flash-card OR a WifiMe compatible wireless card and a flash card.....NOT both.
I bought my wireless card(sitecome) for 15 euros.
    3) with the setup above you can flash the hacked firmware which gets rid of the health screen and let you boot DS files from gba slot(via Flash card).
NOTE: The hacked firmware will NOT harm your DS in any way(exept you mess up the flashing itself) because the hacked firmware does NOT replace the original firmware....it just co-exists.
    4) for all of those who saying it's not worth:
It is worth as you are not only able to run the emus(NES,SNES,MSX,Chip8,GAMEKING(!!) ) but also all the homebrew stuff which is out for DS.And that is VERY impressive stuff:
DS Bonga (a Donkey Konga port....no joke)
    Battleship DS
    Pong
    DS Paint
    Minesweeper
    Nibbles DS
    Tetris DS
    Wall Break (arkanoid clone)
Duckhunt (yes the original NES game with stylus instead of lightgun)
    Musk (great looking shmup)
several calculators (all with touchscreen input)
the upcoming DOOM DS (with updated graphics etc)
2 different OS (winDS and another one)
    Darkstar (painting programm)
    PocketSPC (plays SNES sound files!)
    JPEG viewers
    MOD player
    and and and ....

    5) you can play just with a wireless network card all the official Nintendo downloadable Demos! You don't even need a flash card for this. You don't even need to hack the firmware cause they are official demos.

    Demos out so far:
    Trauma Center: Under the Knife
DS Training for Adults: Work Your Brain
    Ganbare Goemon
    Guru Guru Nagetto
    Submarine Tech
    Electroplankton
    Meteos
    Table Hockey
    Zelda Gallery
    Zelda Preview Trailer
    Advanced Wars DS

I have them all on my laptop and when I go to toilet I take my DS with me and load the demos wirelessly from laptop to toilet(or betterS) and start playing while having business with my butt.

Just wanted to add that you do NOT need to have that Passme sticking out of your DS. Once you have flashed the DS it's done.

    great find gamegirl
it explains(step by step with screenshots) everything you need to run the official demos
it's like a 5min job once you have the wireless card(make sure you get one from the list) for your PC.
if you have a flash card too than you are a lucky girl/man cause you will be able to run all the homebrews once you flashed the new firmware.
    ROXOROX indeed.
    here are some homebrew-screenies:
    DS Bonga

    WinDS

Gorilla DS (remember the old PC game?)

JW Pool (bad screenshot...looks far better(3D) in real)

    TI calculator emu

    Duckhunt DS

There is also a homebrew DS game named "Abalone" which looks so good that it could be easily an official DS game.

Ok, I'm sorta lost here. Do I NEED a wireless card, and why? And do I need a blank SD Card?

you do NOT need a WireLess card. it is one alternative. You can either update the firmware via the wifi (and then send the games that way too) OR update the firmware via a PassMe device and then play the games off a gba flashcart.
