Default Have you ever saved something from the trash?

Have you ever saved a system or a display from being tossed in the trash my some ignorant fool? Perhaps a cab or a pinball table?

I had an employee at GameCrazy rifle through the dumpster for me to retrieve 5 copys of "Plan 9 from Outer Space"( preorder bonus with destroy all humans)and he fished out a Super Gameboy at the last moment. He wasnt sure if I would take it because it had a cracker crunched inside and soda all over it. :/
I opened it up and cleaned it really good and now it works fine. To think the poor little thing almost got taken to the dump.

Oh hell yea man, whenever my dad goes to the rubbish dump, I go with him as I find all sorts of cool stuff. Basically, the workers there have the salvage rights, so they can sell me stuff, but if they don't sell it that day, it goes back in the trash, so I am still saving it from the rubbish

    Megadrive, Game and 2 Controllers - £3
    Super Scope - £2
    N64 Drv64 - £5
And as me and my dad buy so much stuff, I've had assorted N64 games for free.

    As for proper dustbin diving.

    Gamestation:
    - NES classic "Display Only" boxes for several games and the console. Also, ceiling hangers of classic DK, Mario and Pacman sprites

    GAME:
    - Posters of THPS4, Super Mario Sunshine x2, GBA x2
    - Theme Park World and The Sims Standees
    - Big Boxes of Metroid Prime and MGS2

I have yet to find any proper games or anything in a bin.

I have personally never found any game-related things in the trash (nor have I found anything non-game-related, in fact), but a friend of mine found a perfectly-working 3DO in some garbage can, along with the boxing game Foes of Ali. To think that I paid $500 CDN back in 1993...

Well since this thread aint locked down (yet), I found 2 color TVs on different occasions set by my old apt. trash dumpster. They're in my Room of Doom pics. Even got a small TV stand w/ one.

Found a whole kitchen cutlery set w/ butcher block in there too, & my ex-roomie found a working vacuum cleaner. He's probably still using it!

Then, when some rowdy next-door neighbors moved out of there, I couldve spent all day going thru the stuff they threw out...but I've gone on long enough.

When me and my pals were riding around the homestead one wild eyed dude spotted approximately 25 nudie mags. The rest of the day needless to say was spent in quiet reflection of our fortunes.

Other than that a silver chopper style bicycle that ruled.

Also of note not true garbage can finds but neighbors knew i was a game guy and they just came by my house and say here it works but noone wants it (this happened many times).
With a humble heart, on bended knee...
