I've heard of that happening with some codes. They'll work fine on an emulator, but give you trouble on the actual hardware. I was told you can get around it by turning the GG off to save and then turning it back on when you're done.

    that doesn't work at all.
about 90% of the save ram games just plain don't work with the gg (an electronics geek could explain it better then I could)

Does someone know of a hardware mod to save with the GG I was thinking that maybe the GG is not connected on the pins that carry out the information back to the cart so using a jumper wire in a trace on the PCB of the GG could work! any ideas?

I used a GG with Sonic 3 way back when and my gave saves were fine.

Still worked last time I fired up S3.

Sonic 3 is one of the few Genesis games to use an FeRAM chip to save game progress. It works differently than previous games which contained battery backup SRAM.

I have had this issue before and after cleaning the pins of the GG and my Sonic 3 cart it worked fine, might not be your issue but it is something for you to try.

Seems like I ran into a few that wouldn't save when I had 32x and SCD attached.

I don't know if it was one or the other, or the combination.

NBA Jam gave me problems, and I think another one also.

It is for sure this games don't work with the game genie, you can play and the codes work but you are not able to save, that is why I try to figure a workaround procedure but right now I only have one GG for the genesis so Ill have to wait till I get my hands on another one to open it and test directly on the genesis and also another copy of Phantasy star cause I may burn the cart in the process!
