I've used cheap DVD shelving for displaying games - try an officemax or officedepot, sometimes even walmart. Granted, this is assuming that you don't have multiple hundreds, but it might get the job done.

OMG. I'm glad my wife has'nt posted my rooms pictures. Then you'd see messy. My room looks like Gamestop or EB blew up, threw up and then got nasty. Thankfully it's getting reeled back in to respectability with help from ikea.

IKEA or gothic cabinet craft has display type shelving or cases. Aside from that scan out of business sales/auctions for display cases or similar items.

I've got a Wal-Mart plastic Towel shelf that fits cart-only NES games 4 across and 20 back, on 3 shelves. It's not bad for the price ($13), but stacking too much stuff on top of the shelf makes it hard to pop the top drawer open.

I would definitely go with something wooden; plastic really can't take too much weight.

You should see the rest of the room ;-)
thats just the nes corner. AND that picture is several months old
but yeah, its hard to keep everything neat when you keep getting more crap in weekly.

but yeah for shelving, I'd highly recomend checking out the hardware section of your local target or walmart, those shelves are super easy to put together and are stackable, perfect for video games (or toys), what makes them kinda neat, if you look really close at the front...it looks like donkey kong girders. If I had the time I'd paint them in dk colours.

I bought a bookshelf and it cost $80, but it can hold around 500 - 700 NES games and doesn't take up alot of space.

    Try this:

This unit is from IKEA and can hold quite a few games, look at the product here:

    http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/store...ts=10104*10173

It’s a good, nice looking unit for a reasonable price ($50). It’s only downside is that your games are open air so you’ll have to dust them more often. Other than that it’s a nice looking, well made unit. Here’s a shot of mine:

As you can see it’s pretty good sized, Although I’m running out of room.

I swear I can smell your stinky hands from here!

NES games work great with any CD racks that do not have individual slots. Carts are roughly 1.5 times the thickness of a CD case, so you can use this to guesstimate how many carts will fit on a shelving unit, assuming the package says how many CDs fit on the unit.

Thank you for the ideas. I too like the Ikea thing. I wonder if You could make an acryllic cover for the shelves? Also, though your room is messy, it doesn't stack up to my mess. Plus you have a reason and video games cluttering it up, so that gives you the right to have that. IMO - He he
