Default Playing PS2 Imports on a U.S. Console?

    Good morning,

Is there an easy way to play import games on a U.S. PS2? By easy I mean something that doesn't require opening it up and fiddling with the hardware, something equivalent to the DC-X for Dreamcast. I asked at Lik-Sang but they don't have anything like that for PS2.

    Thanks.

    Moved.

I have a hunch you'll probably get more responses over here.

I'm sure there's already a few topics about this. But you could get a swap disk with a magic slide card without having to mod your PS2. You could also get a fliptop mod but you would have to replace the PS2's original case.

If you're really into imports just get a Japanese PS2 that is the optimal way to go. Even with the slide card / magic swap combo you may run into problems meaning you'll have to do multiple boots.

with slide cards you tend to deface the tray...another option would be an hd loader which leaves your ps2 unfettered, downside, you have to have a pc to install your imports, and compatibilty is not 100% but that's how I play my imports

Modding is cheaper than an import PS2... Mine was done for much cheaper, and it plays all regions without a hitch.

Expect close to $200 for an import PS2...
