    Default Intellivision question

Is armor battle for the intellivision heavier than most intellivision cartridges? I picked it up today because it felt heavy and was only .50. Now I really don't think it's a proto or anything (already opened it). Just wanna double check, thanks

It is probably the "Armor" that you are feeling. That stuff weighs a lot.

I have no idea if it is heavier. Just needed to say the armor comment.

The earliest Intellivision cartridges are all heavy. They have some metal shielding that is not in later version I think. Sometimes the plastic is more brown than black and they don't have the line that says "insert to here" molded into the cartridge case. I think there are 10 or so games like this. Also they come with fancy full color instruction manuals.

Adding to the thread after 15 year gap
Yes I was curious and found this thread with the awesome picture on top as well.
In addition to the cartridge differences, I have Armor Battle boxed with the 'heavy' shielded version. There is another minor difference in that the top of the box has a computer number printed direclty on the box itself. All other INTV boxes either don't have the number or have the number printed on a white label which is affixed to the box. I can supply a picture if anyone wants it.

But yes - the shielded INTV carts are much heavier - easy to notice. And they seem very rare as I've only ever seen a few.
